First Orlando Make N Take - Classic Garage Suite, 2019 Spring/Summer

Make N Takes are one of the highlights of OnStage events. In Orlando we had four to enjoy making, together with a Take N Make. The aim of the Take N Make being to complete it at home. Today I am sharing the first Orlando Make N Take.

Each Make N Take comes in it’s own package and the stamps, ink etc are usually in the plastic tote on the table.

Orlando Make N Takes

For the first Orlando Make n Take we got to use the Geared Up Garage stamp set and the Garage Gears Thinlits. Please note that they will be available from 3 January, either individually or as a bundle.

The Make N Take was infact a box which we got to decorate.

Orlando Make N Take using the Classic Garage Suite

Basic Instructions for the Make N Take

  • We stamped the sentiment and then die cut it out.
  • The cogs/gears were then die cut out of the Tranquil Tide paper.
  • A strip of Crushed Curry cardstock was glued to the square of the Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Paper.
  • Then the die cut cog was glued to the paper.
  • Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic Ribbon was wrapped around the paper before the whole thing was glue to the lid of the box.
  • To finish off, the stamped and die cut sentiment were then attached to the box using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here’s a picture of the board showing the whole suite. The little spanner and key embellishments are really cute.

As an Onstage attendee I get to take part in the Product Purchase Premier. This suite is one that has made it’s way into my order so you can expect to see more ideas in the weeks leading up to it’s release in January.

Happy stamping.

Acorns in Florida - OnStage Live (Days 4 to 5)

The Acorns in Florida have been having a blast. Admittedly there have been a few interesting moments such as getting on the freeway and travelling east bound instead of west. Sadly, today is our last day and tonight we fly back to the UK, but not before I share days 4 and 5 with you.

Day 4

Friday was our second full day at OnStage. The morning started with a prize patrol, and recognition. Of course there were stamping presentations and another prize patrol or two too.

We had two further Make N Takes to do during our lunch period. I only seem to have a photo of one of them so will add the fourth to my Facebook page sometime this week.

Acorns in Florida Make N Take 3

In the afternoon we had a few hours to ourselves but not enough time to go back to the villa and relax. A few of us decided to do some crafting and others went out into the heat and humidity to have a wander around.

After dinner at Olive Garden (a new experience for most) it was back to Main Stage for a fun evening. Sara and other Stampin’ Up! employees together with a few demonstrators had us in stitches with their presentations.

Dale had us in stitches with his Polar Bear in the Snow card – basically a blank card! This seems to have started a trend so if you see others on Pinterest such as a black card called frogs in the dark you will know where it came from.

Lisa Hardie used the Hopping Along stamp set in her presentation and had us rolling in the aisles. The stamp set will be available in January 2019 as one of the Sale-A-Bration options.

I’ll leave you to figure out why it caused such a commotion, but let’s just say that the red lips and the eye lashes finished us off!

Day 5

Saturday was a long day and started with recognition for various things.  We were separated for lunch with Centre Stage attendees going to another room.

Here I am talking to my friend Ann Lewis. She is one of the Global Stampers. I’m glad to say that we did manage to meet up with Robbie too.

The afternoon was spent recognising demonstrator anniversaries. It was inspiring to see demonstrators celebrating their 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th anniversaries. Did you know that there are 3 US demonstrators who are celebrating their 30th anniversaries along with Stampin’ Up! ? No mean feat.

Once OnStage was over we were treated to watch Shelli and Sara doing some stamping. Sara’s daughters also came on stage for a short while. This stamping business is a real family affair. Here’s a couple of the cards that they stamped and shared with us.

Let It Ride rainbow card

The rainbow behind the horse (from Let it Ride) was made using Shimmer Embossing Paste and re-inkers. I for one will be giving this technique a go over the next few weeks and I’ll share my efforts when I can.

The card above was made using the Florentine Filigree Bundle (stamp set and die). The Stamparatus was used to ensure the stamp placements lined up.

Both the Let It Ride and Florentine Filigree Bundle will be available from 3 January when the 2019 Spring/Summer Catalogue is released. More about that soon.

Happy Stamping.

Acorns in Florida - We made it to OnStage Live ( Days 1 to 3)

Acorns in Florida – Part 1 (Days 1 to 3)

We made it to Orlando this past Monday. The long flight, long lines at immigration, and then a drive in the dark with seven passengers made for an interesting and very long day (about 18 hours). Some of the team are totally overwhelmed by the vastness of the place (and the huge choice of food and drinks on menus) and the weather (hot and really humid). Everyday so far has been bad hair day for me!!

Day 1

Tuesday was spent visiting all the various craft stores that everyone wanted to visit – Michaels, Joann’s and Hobby Lobby. I’ve never been to a Hobby Lobby and was totally overwhelmed by it!

We made it to OnStage Live in Florida safe and sound
Michaels – the first port of call on Day 2

Day 2

The day started with bag pick-up. Not too early in the morning though.  This was just as well because the SatNav sent us on a huge circle which added a few miles to our journey from the villa to the Convention Centre.

In the afternoon some of the team went to Epcot and the others to Disney Springs. Epcot is where Stampin’ Up! held their evening CentreStage event for top demonstrators. The evening was filled with karaoke and desserts. Sara Douglass made one announcement and I’ll be posting details of the announcement very soon.

I was glad to fall into my bed at midnight, but not before I finished my fancy fold swaps!

Day 3

Wednesday started bright and early.  This was just as well because the traffic from our villa to the Convention Center was a bit of a nightmare. The day was pretty full on – swaps, catalogues handed out, four prize patrols, all attendee giveaways, business talks, product spotlights, Shelli and others stamping and of course a couple of make n takes.

The Acorns with their Spring/Summer Catalogues. Oh what to choose for pre-order?

Check back soon to see the Make n Takes.

Happy stamping.

My team WOW swaps and more

A normal part of OnStage events is to make swaps and share them with others in return for one of their swaps. This time around we decided that we would stick to making WOW swaps just for our team, the Crafting Acorns.

I made a start on mine a couple of weeks ago when I printed off the Stampin' Up! Statement of the Heart. I'd bought some key rings and fridge magnets when I was last in San Diego and thought that they would make great swaps for the team.

As well as stamps, ink and paper these are the basic tools that I used!

I made a start on mine a couple of weeks ago when I printed off the Stampin’ Up! Statement of the Heart. I’d bought some key rings and fridge magnets when I was last in San Diego and thought that they would make great swaps for the team.

As well as stamps, ink and paper these are the basic tools that I used!

Each keyring had a Statement of the Heart on one side and an stamped image on the other. I also decorated the ring with some ribbon and a bow made from some Baker’s Twine.

Each keyring was put in it’s own decorated mini pizza box along with some of the Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie.

Oakfield Crafts, Stampin' Up! UK, swaps, Beautiful Bouquet
Both the back of the keyring and the mini pizza boxes were decorated using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and inks in the same colour as the statement of the heart – Lemon Lime Twist, Pink Piroutte and Pool Party.

At the same time as I bought the key rings I also bought some fridge magnets, so I used those to make some little gifts for friends.
I glued some Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon to the back of the magnet and then inserted the Statement of the Heart into the front of the holder.
I finished the gifts off by wrapping them in some white tissue paper and a made a medallion for the front using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set with a sentiment from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set. I just love the fonts on the stamp set and they fit the Pretty Label Punch perfectly.

Hope you like the projects I shared.

Today is a big day because the Retirement List will be released this evening (about 8.00 pm). Some of you know what the list may look like from previous years but, just so you know –

  • Don’t panic. The list maybe long because of items on there which are being re-configured due to re-branding and packaging. This means that they will be in the 2018-19 Catalogue but may look a little different.
  • Items that are retiring will be available on a while stocks last basis, so don’t wait to order if it’s on your must have wish list.
  • I will be placing an order this coming weekend so if you live local and can collect from me please get in touch by 8.00 pm on Friday (13 April). Please bear in mind that your chosen items may no longer be available by then though.
  • Ordering online. Don’t forget to use this month’s Oak Leaf Club Code for all orders below £150. The code is PQT36NXN. I’ll then know to send you a gift next month along with your thank you card.

OnStage April 2018 - oh what fun we had

There were over 5000 Stampin' Up! demonstrators meeting up all over the world at their OnStage Locals this weekend.

I travelled up to Telford on Friday afternoon to attend the Centre Stage event in the evening with fellow Silver Elites and above.

Me on left and Natalie (my upline) on the right.

OnStage April 2018 - oh what fun we had

There were over 5000 Stampin’ Up! demonstrators meeting up all over the world at their OnStage Locals this weekend.

I travelled up to Telford on Friday afternoon to attend the Centre Stage event in the evening with fellow Silver Elites and above.

Me on left and Natalie (my upline) on the right.

The theme for CentreStage was to dress 1980s style.  My teenage years were in the 1970s so I really had to use my imagination (and the internet) to come up with an idea. In the end I went for a kind of Bananarama look!

On Saturday we attended the OnStage Local, where there were just over 500 excited demonstrators who just couldn’t wait to get their hands on the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue. This will be available to customers from 1 June. I’m sure that sneak peeks will be appearing long before then though.

Crafting Acorns on tour – Telford April 2018

Getting our hands on the catalogue early is just one of the many perks we receive for attending the event. There are also prize patrols, make n takes using some of the new products and a great bag to hold it all. Of course there’s some business talk too.

OnStage also gives me the opportunity to meet up with other demonstrators from around the UK and catch up on all their news and generally have a great time. The social side is in my books just as important.
We had 80s music blasting out during the breaks and everyone had a great time singing along to some old favourites.
Just under 4 mins to go
This year Stampin’ Up! are celebrating their 30th Anniversary so these OnStage Locals were the kick off events. I’m sure that Stampin’ Up! have lots of secrets and surprises up their sleeves. The whole anniversary year will culminate in a very large OnStage Live event in November, which is being held in Orlando, Florida.
Chocolate cupcake (yum) sitting on my new
notebook (also yum!)
It was a full on day, starting at 9.30 am and ending at 5.30 pm. There were video recordings with news/messages and stamp/product showcases from Sara & Shelli, and recognition of demonstrators who reached Stampin’ Up milestones since the last Stampin’ Up! event. There were also live stamping showcases from UK demonstrators and 4 make n takes for us to do. Of course there was a lunch break, and mid afternoon we stopped for another break and a celebratory cupcake.

I arrived back home last night and as always came back with lots more than I took.  The bag on the left is the one we were given and it contains all of my hoard of goodies! The bag on the right contains all of the WOW swaps that I received and I will share these with you later in the week once I’ve had a chance to take a photo of them all. I also had an overnight bag but that’s boring so I didn’t bother to take a photo of it.
I’ll be back tomorrow with some photos of the WOW swap that I made.
Happy stamping.
