Last call for Sale-A-Bration - Don't miss out on those free stamp sets

Sale-A-Bration ends today with a free item with a £45.00 order or the extra two stamp sets for free in your starter kit, only available until 10.50 pm tonight. You have until then to place an online order, but don't leave it to the last minute. I'd hate for there to be a glitch.

Not sure what to get in your Starter Kit? Then check out below as a suggestion (my current favourite items).

Last Minute Reminder

Sale-A-Bration ends on Friday, and being close to the end things are going fast. At the time of writing, the Glimmer Paper, Seaside Embossing Folder and the Sparkle Embossing Folder are no longer available.

If you can't figure out what you want in your £45 order, how about stocking up on the 2015-2017 In Color products that will be retiring on 31 May 2017?

CAS Colours & Sketches - Challenge # 215

This week Patricia has the second colour challenge for the month for us.

I think this colour combination is great, with all three colours coming from the Brights collection (yummy).

This coming Sunday is Mother's Day. Traditionally here in the UK it is the 4th Sunday of Lent but I know that a lot of other countries don't actually celebrate it until May.

Final Days of Sale-A-Bration 2017

To mark the final days of this year's Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up! have added eight products from the current catalogues.

Sale-A-Bration ends on 31 March at 10.50 pm, so don't miss out.

Global Stampers - March 2017

Because we are getting so close to the end of this year's Sale-A-Bration (only 12 days to go) we all decided that we would move this month's blog share forward a week to give you more time to look at things. What's more, we decided to stick with the theme of Sale-A-Bration but each of us could use whatever we liked for our projects.

Coming Soon - Part 2

Today I'm sharing a sneak peek of projects made using the second new Sale-A-Bration (SAB) that will be available tomorrow until 31 March on a while supplies last basis.

The second stamp set is called Reverse Words and it consists of 2 red rubber stamps that will be available in either Clear Mount or Wood Mount sets.

Coming soon - Part 1

Just stopping by really quickly to share a couple of projects I've made using one of the new Sale-A-Bration (SAB) stamp sets that will be available from Tuesday, 21 February.

Both of these cards feature the Make a Medallion stamp set. This photopolymer set has 8 stamps which can be stamped in the same colour or different ones.

I've used Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo and Pool Party inks on both cards along with the Lovely Lace embossing folder. The bottom card also features some of the new Glimmer Paper that comes as a pack of 6"x6" sheets (4 each of Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum).

I've designed a third card but I'm saving that as the Make n Take for team training which is next Friday.

I think that this new stamp set could quickly take over as the most wanted SAB item. At the moment the most popular item is the Hey Chick stamp set. Then again, I suspect that the glimmer paper will be really popular too.

You can get a hold of these new items from Tuesday, and you can choose one item per £45 spent (excluding P&P).

PS On Monday, I'll have another couple of projects to share made using the other new SAB stamp set.

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge # 207

This week we have another sketch challenge from Karen, she's really on a roll with these.

I'm not sure about wiggly lines, especially because I don't have a trimmer that is suitable to cut cardstock or paper and I'm a bit lethal with a craft knife (only to myself). But, photopolymer stamps are great for curving. Especially those that have long thin images. Once I figured that out I knew exactly what I wanted to try.

It did take me a couple of goes to get a shape that I was happy with. In fact, there are three stamped lacy images on my project, and I actually had all three on the acrylic block at the same time. This  meant that I could stamp them all at once and there was no need to try to line things up individually.

The lacy images come from a stamp set called Delicate Details. It's one of the stamp sets you can currently get for free as part of Sale-A-Bration.

My card base is made out of Crumb Cake cardstock and I added both a Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla layer to the base card. You can see this better in the photo below.

I wanted to keep the card fairly neutral colour wise so I used Early Espresso and Crumb Cake inks. I used the Early Espresso for the lace and both Early Espresso and Crumb Cake for the banner/sentiment.

The sentiment and banner come from a stamp set called Banners for You.  There are in fact dies that can be used to cut out the banners, but in this instance I quickly fussy cut it out with a pair of paper snips. I finished off the banner with a couple of pearls because I felt it needed a little extra.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my project, please feel free to leave a comment. I hope you decide to enter a card for the challenge and you have until 11.00 pm next Monday (30 Jan) to do so.

Open House

Yesterday I held my Open House to introduce the new Spring/Summer and Sale-A-Bration catalogues to customers past, present and (hopefully) future.

I designed two Make n Takes for everyone to make and take home, so I thought I'd share them with you today.

Both of these cards feature new products from the Spring/Summer Catalogue.

The Crushed Curry card on the left was made using the Star Blast Edgelits (page 11 of the catalogue) and the Emerald Envy card on the right was made using the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies (page 5 of the catalogue). Both cards feature the Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP) on page 5 of the catalogue.

I made the Crushed Curry card as follows:
  • Use an A5 piece of Crushed Curry to make the card base.
  • Glue a piece of Whisper White measuring 10.0 x 14.4 cm on top.
  • Glue a piece of DSP measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm on top.
  • Cut out the die twice from a piece of Crushed Curry measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm and glue this on top of the DSP. I simply cut one (making sure the die was placed at the top), and then turned the cardstock 180° and cut the second (making sure the die was placed at the top again).
  • Glue some of the stars left over from the die cut images, onto the card front.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Bermunda Bay onto a piece of Whisper White measuring 9.5 x3.25 cm and then fix it to the strip of Crush Curry (between the two die cut images) using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones.
  • I added a Whisper White insert measuring 10.0 x 14.4 cm that I'd stamped with stars.
I hope you like the cards and if you would like to see more about the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits and the co-ordinating Balloon Adventures stamp set be sure to check out the following YouTube video.

Don't forget, now that Sale-A-Bration is on, if you spend £45 or more you get to choose an item for free from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

If you would like more details of the products I used, you will find these below. Please note that I've only shown the bundles because they offer the best value for money but everything is available individually. Further more, the Birthday Blast stamp set is available in both wood and clear mount.

Thank You cards - Sneak Peek 4

Happy New Year to you and yours.

I'm currently working on my Christmas present thank you cards and thought I'd share a few of them today.

I've used the Beautiful You stamp set - one of the sets available come 4 January (only a few days more).

I stamped the image in Basic Black Archival ink and then used my Blender Pens and some of the 2016-2018 In Color Inks to colour in the images.

Once I'd coloured the image I cut it out using one of the larger ovals from the Layering Oval Framelits Dies. I then cut a larger scallop oval from some co-ordinating cardstock.

The background paper is in fact the 2016-18 In Color Envelope Paper. It's thinner than the normal Designer Series Paper but there is no reason why it can't be used for backgrounds.

If you would like to see more of these and other items from the Spring/Summer Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure then please feel free to come along to the Open House I am holding on Saturday (7 Jan from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm). There is still time to RSVP.

Funky Chicken - Sneak Peek 3

I'm probably revealing my age when I admit that I do remember a song called the "Do the Funky Chicken". But, it keeps springing into my mind when I look at one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. It's called Hey, Chick and features 7 stamps and will be available in both wood and clear mount options.

This is one of the cards I've made with it.

The card is fun to make, and is called a Three Tier Slider (just in case you want to go looking for more on Pinterest or Google). I based mine on instructions that I found from Belinda Neil.

We made one of these style of cards in November's Movers & Shakers All Day Class and I'll be posting a Tutorial on my Tutorials page in a couple of days.

I coloured in the chickens and eggs using a new product that will be available 4 January - a pack of Watercolor Pencils. I love these pencils, they are so easy to use and can be used on all sorts of cardstock. You can check out more info about them on the following video.

I hope you like my project and I'll be back with more soon.
