Fancy Fold Card for a Masculine Blog Hop

Today I’m taking part in the Crafty Blogs Masculine Blog Hop. Please don’t tell my hubby that I’m sharing his birthday card. He has a big birthday tomorrow which calls for a special card, and I thought you would like to see it.

George and I love to travel, and because of this the choice of paper for his card was easy to make. The stunning World of Good Designer Series Paper features maps, compasses and globes in print and in brass foiling.

World of Good Designer Series Paper

Once the decision was made about the paper, I had to come up with something a little different card style wise. I’d seen a couple of the Theatre Fun Fold Cards on Pinterest and decided to give it a go.

Masculine Blog Hop with the World of Good Designer Series Paper

I used the following for the card (see bottom of post for the full supply list)

  • Two different sheets of the World of Good DSP. One to form the “curtains” and another to form the frame.
  • Bumblebee card stock for the base card.
  • Elements from the World of Good Memories & More Card Pack to create the valance at the top.
  • A globe from the Beautiful World stamp set. This is stamped in Bumblebee ink onto Bumblebee cardstock and die cut using a circle from the Stitched Frames Dies.

If you haven’t seen a Theatre Fold card this is what mine looks like when the “curtains” are opened.

And from the top.

It looks complicated and I would be lying if I told you that I didn’t make any mistakes!

Here’s the back of the card.

I hope you enjoyed taking a look at George’s card. The links to the others taking part in this Masculine Blog Hop are below. You can click on them in order or hop randomly. The choice is yours. Either way, have fun.

10 Cards in 2 Hours Using Memories & More Cards

I have recently been holding a series of classes that I’ve called 10 Cards in 2 Hours. And, yes we have made all 10 of the cards  in the allotted 2 hours.

All the classes have involved a Memories & More Card Pack and also a pack of pre-cut card bases. The Memories & More cards are ideal for making cards as well as pocket scrapbooking, so don’t let the name fool you.

I also included with each kit some additional pre-cut card stock to add extra interest. The class instructions included all the cutting details so that the cards can be replicated again.

Flowers For Every Season

10 Cards in 2 hours - Flowers for Every Season

The Flowers For Every Season pack has cards suitable for all sorts of occasions. There are cards for Christmas, Men and of course lots of florals too. What’s more, there is a whole of suite of products that coordinate with them. These range from 6″ x 6″ paper, stamp sets, dies and embellishments.

These are the products used to make the 10 cards (all different).

World of Good

The World of Good pack is great for cards for those who love to travel, for men and also for simple pick-me-up cards. As per the Flowers for Every Season pack, there is a coordinating suite of products. This includes 12″ x 12″ foiled paper, stamp set and dies.

These are the products used to make the cards (all 10 different).

 Wonder of the Season

10 cards in 2 hours - Wonder of the Season

The Wonder of the Season pack can be found in the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue. It too has a suite of products that can be combined with it, but the class kit included just a few additional cut items from me.

These are the products used to make the 10 cards (all different).

Purchase any of the Memories & More card packs along with the coordinating base cards and envelopes from my Online Store and I will email you the link to the appropriate instructions.

Already have the card packs but would like the instructions? Click HERE to visit the tutorials page where you can purchase them for £5.00 each.

I don’t usually share my weekly newsletter here on my blog. This is because one of the perks of being a subscriber is a FREE weekly tutorial from the Craft Along With Us team. Anyway, here goes…

Free Weekly Tutorial - Craft Along With Us Team

Vicky designed a sketch for us to use this month.

Free Weekly Tutorial - July Sketch
The one thing you need to remember about a sketch is that it’s simply a starting point. Things can be altered slightly. And, this is exactly what I did. By simply rotating the card 90°, the whole look of the card changes. I also changed it into a fun fold card too.
Free weekly tutorial - Adventure Awaits
The card above, features products from the World of Good Suite.
  • The Beautiful World stamp set
  • The World Map Dies, which you can bundle with the stamp set and save 10% on the total.
  • The World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper. Love, love, love the brass foiling on some of the sheets.
You will find the instructions for my card here –
Feel free to use the instructions or simply make your own card using the sketch.

Forever Fern One Sheet Wonder

I had lots of fun this morning sharing my Forever Fern One Sheet Wonder. You can find the recording of my Facebook Live below.

I shared lots of tips on what to look for when choosing a stamp set for the technique, and more tips for stamping.

The template I’d designed was used to make six cards.  It’s possible to get more out of an A4 sheet but I decided that 6 was a good starting point.

Forever Fern One Sheet Wonder

The images from the Forever Fern stamp set were stamped using Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron ink. Probably not the first colours that spring to mind when deciding what to you, but I love the combination.

Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper was also used on the first two cards. Love this paper because you can use both sides for your projects.

Out with the Old and In with the New Catalogue - do you want one?

It’s that time of year when it’s a case of out with the old catalogue and in with the new catalogue. Well at least the new catalogue starts on 3 June but there’s no harm in seeing it earlier.

I’ve just received my copy of the 2020 Catalogue. I can tell you now that it’s a goodie. There are quite a few stamp sets carrying over from both the 2019 Catalogue and the Jan-June 2020 Catalogue but lots of new things to ooh and ahh over too.

Who wants a copy of the 2020 catalogue?  It’s so much nicer being able to sit back with a cuppa and flick through at your leisure rather then seeing it on a device.
In with the new catalogue

I’m able to take part in the new catalogue pre-order next week and will be adding catalogues to my list of purchases.

Catalogues will automatically be sent to the following people free of charge

  • Anyone who has placed an order with me in the 6 months to 31 May.
  • Those who come to Card & A Cuppa on a regular basis.
  • Anyone who has been to a class or purchased a class kit in the 6 months to 31 May.
If you fall into one (or more) of the above you do not need to do anything. A copy will be mailed to you once I receive them in my order.
If you don’t meet any of the above and don’t already shop with another demonstrator, I am more than happy to send you a catalogue. The cost will be £2.50 to cover the cost of P&P to you. If you would like a 2020 Catalogue please click HERE and complete the request form. Please note that the catalogue will only be sent to a UK address.
Stay safe and keep stamping.
