Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas

I promise that this is the last Christmas card of 2014 and then I'll be turning up the heat with some more Spring/Summer and Sale-a-Bration sneak peeks.

I have to admit that it was a bit last minute as I realised last night that I did not have any cards for the kids. We have my son's girlfriend staying with us for Christmas so I had to make her one too. I initially thought that I would have a major problem as I do not have any of my more traditional stamp sets with me. But, then I remembered that I had packed my Project Life December Wonder stamp set (Autumn/Winter Supplement) so I used that.

The colour combinations are L to R - Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow, Mossy Meadow and Real Red and Real Red with Mossy Meadow. I stamped off the snowflakes before stamping the card fronts as I did not want them to be too bright. I added some Basic Rhinestones to the centres of some of them too.

Here's a better look at one - I split the Linen Thread and then simply coiled it and stuck it to the card front with a couple of Dimensionals (hidden under the greeting). This is something that one of the German SU demonstrators, Kerstin Kreis does a lot of, and had us doing it for one of the make and takes at Convention. It is a very simple but effective way of adding another dimension to the card without making it over fussy. You can try this trick with the Baker's Twine too.

The inside of the card is very simply decorated too.

I hope you all have a fabulous day - I am just starting mine as I'm 8 hours behind London.

Merry Christmas to you all where ever you are.

Fiona xx

It's November!!!

My last few posts have been very non-Christmas (although you could make a Christmas version of the box) so today I thought I'd share some of the stars from the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit. This kit features in the Autumn/Winter Supplement and is on a while supplies last basis.

I have one of the kits and so far have made a few of the stars but I'm planning on playing around with a few more to see about making them into boxes that can be opened and closed.

The three smallest stars now hanging on the tree in my craft room

2nd smallest - I love the wooden embellishments

The smallest box

This is the largest box and you get one of these

To give it some perspective this is it hanging on the wall in my craft room
The simply created kit contains everything you need to make the star boxes, as the tabs on the side pieces come with double sided tape on them.

It also comes with all the embellishments needed - baker's twine, stars, wooden elements and greetings. It does not however come with ribbon, and I've used some Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon to hang my boxes.

Have you noticed the little square boxes also hanging on the tree? The lovely Carol helped me make these using the Gift Box Punch Board and pieces of 6"x6" of card stock.  There are some little treats hiding inside the boxes. The boxes were pretty quick and easy to put together and are finished off with some Designer Series Paper from the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack and greetings from the That's the Ticket stamp set.

I'm currently putting together my last classes of the year and I have a sneaking suspicion that a star and a box might just be part of them.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better

I'm so excited to tell you that today sees the launch of the 2014 Autumn-Winter Supplement. There are 8 new fabulous products now available on a while stocks last basis.

I totally fell in love with the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit when I was at Convention. The fabulous Pam Morgan did a great (and very funny) demonstration of them.  I don't have them in my hands as yet (they are on their way) but to give you a little taster here are some of the photos I took at Convention.

To put the size of the largest star into perspective (you get 1 of these and 25 other stars in three other sizes), here's a photo of Pam holding one. It is huge and would make a lovely wall decoration - that's what I'm planning on doing with mine.

I thought I had a funnier photo but unfortunately my camera was not up to the job of taking a focused picture. The kit also includes enough embellishments to decorate all 26 stars and the 21 laser cut wood snowflakes are lovely.

I'm planning on us making some of these boxes in my November class and in the meantime can't wait to get my hands on them to make up my samples.

A copy of the new Supplement will hopefully be going in the post tomorrow (as they are due to be delivered then) to those on my Catalogue Mailing List. In the meantime, if you would like to see what goodies are available you can check out the electronic version by clicking on this link - 2014 Autumn-Winter Supplement, or the picture at the top of the left-hand side bar. Please note that the Supplement is designed to be a fold out, so the order will make more sense when you are able to hold and see the printed version.
