Goodbye Daisy Lane - Retirement List and colour challenge

Today I’m saying goodbye Daisy Lane. The stamp set and large Daisy Punch are/were on the retirement list for the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. The punch has now sold out but the stamp set is available at the time of writing this. I’ve created a couple of cards where I have combined the stamp set with a colour challenge set by the Stampin’ Up Concept Artists.

The colours are not normally ones I would think to use for this particular stamp set but I love the projects that I have created.

Concept Artists colour challenge

It’s always sad to say goodbye to retiring products. But, it does mean that going forward there will be a gap to fill on my shelves.

The Daisy Lane stamp set first appeared back in 2019 and has always been a popular stamp set. There are two punches that coordinate and make it easy to create a full daisy from a couple of stamped images. As mentioned above, the Daisy Punch has already sold out but the Medium Daisy Punch is carrying over and will be available in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue.

The time to shine card on the left uses most of the colours (not Sahara Sand) but the card on the right has only used Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake and Gray Granite.

The “friend” card looks as if a hole has been die-cut in the front of the card. This is just an illusion and the circle is in fact added to the front of the card.

Daisy Lane Duo - A cute card and handmade decor

Back today with a Daisy Lane duo of projects to share with you.

At April’s OnStage event we all received the Daisy Lane stamp set in our bags. The stamp set coordinates with the current Daisy Delight stamp set and both will be available in the 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalogue.

Daisy Lane Duo - cute card and gift

The Mossy Meadow rolled frame was made from a 8″ x 8″ square of card stock. I used a tutorial produced back in March 2016. You can find the tutorial over on my Tutorials page under Friends & Flowers Box Frame Card. The frames are fun to make so long as you don’t mind getting a little glue on you!

To make the flower on the corner of the frame

  • Use both of the daisies from the Daisy Lane stamp set.
  • Stamp both the daisies twice using Calypso Coral ink.
  • Use the Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend to colour all four daisies
  • Punch out the larger daisies and fussy cut the smaller daisies. Come 4 June the coordinating punch for the smaller daisy will be available. This will make the smaller daisies a lot easier and quicker to make.
  • Glue the two large daisies together and then the two smaller ones.  Then glue the smaller daises to the larger one.
  • Add a Gold Faceted Gem to the centre of the flower to finish off.

In addition to the daisies needed for the frame, I stamped and cut out a couple of extra small ones. These were put to good use on a card.  They became the focal point in the centre of the card when they were mounted on both Whisper White and Mossy Meadow stitched squares.

Daisy Lane - CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #321

Today I have a sneak peek of the new Daisy Lane stamp set. I’m using it for the latest CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge which is being hosted by Patricia this month.

Here’s my take on the sketch.

Daisy Lane sneak peek

I coordinated the Daisy Lane stamp set with the new Mosaic Mood double sided paper and also the current Daisy Delight stamp set.

There will be a coordinating punch for the new smaller daisy but I’ve not as yet been able to get my hands on it. As a result, I’ve had to stamp and fussy cut out two lots of the smaller daisy. Both the stamp set and punch will be available from 4 June.

I’m going to be using both stamp sets in my June fancy fold classes (evening of Friday, 7 June and morning of Saturday, 8 June). You can find more information here.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing my card. Don’t forget to check out the cards made by the rest of the design team. You can find the cards together with the link to add your project over on the CC&S blog.
