A bouquet of blossoms

Today I would like to share three cards that I made using the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set.

A set of 6 stamps available in both Clear and Wood Mount

A pretty bouquet of Betsy's Blossoms

This first card is I think, a really simple but clean looking one. I stamped the large floral stamp three times in three different colours, Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green, three of the new In Colors. I then used my Postage Stamp punch to punch out the squares from the stamped images.

The 1-1/4" Square Punch was then used to punch out squares from a piece of Midnight Muse card stock (another new In Color).

A greeting from the Curly Cute stamp set was stamped in Midnight Muse and the squares were added to the Whisper White card base using Dimensionals.

No, I have not resorted to retro decor on my walls. But, in case you are wondering, the background for the photo is a piece of 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper from the Floral District paper pack.

This second card has a Raspberry Ripple card base on which I added a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Floral District pack.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock I stamped the large sentiment from the Just Believe stamp set in Raspberry Ripple and then in the bottom right corner I used the small triple flower stamp and stamped the image three times in Summer Starfruit. I then stamped the image again on a spare piece of card stock but this time in Raspberry Ripple. I then cut this fourth image out and added it over the three using Dimensionals.

This last card was made using a Raspberry Ripple card base and again I added a piece of Floral District Designer Series Paper.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock I stamped the small single flower image in three different colours, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple and Midnight Muse. I have to apologise here because I could not find my Stamp-a-ma-jig so the flowers are not exactly in-line but oh well.

The Whisper White card stock was matted onto a piece of Gumball Green card stock and it was then matted onto the card base using Dimensionals. I also stamped a greeting from the Itty Bitty Banner stamp set in the bottom right corner.

Did you know that all of the stamp sets in the new Annual Catalogue now come in both Wood and Clear Mount? And, all single stamps come in Wood Mount with a few of them also available in Clear Mount. Good news for all of you who like the convenient storage that comes with the Clear Mount stamp sets.

I am going to be busy over the next few days preparing for my Open House this coming Saturday. If you live near RG40 3JQ drop me a line for directions - see My Events and Classes page for more information about times etc.

In the meantime, don't forget to check out the blog hop that I took part in yesterday (Monday 1 October). Hopefully all the links are now up and working as there were apparently a few technical glitches. Don't you just love technology...

In Love with Stamping New Catalogues Blog Hop

Hi everyone,

At long last the 2012 Annual Catalogue is available for viewing by clicking on the link on the lefthand side . To celebrate the new catalogue some of us on the In Love with Stamping web-site decided to take part in a blog hop - which goes live at 10.00 am today. For those of you who are don't know what a blog hop is, it is where a group of bloggers have got together and added links on their blog to other blogs so that people can easily hop from one blog to another.

So, if you have been following the blog hop then hopefully you hopped here from Zoe's fabulous blog. If this is your starting point then welcome to the In Love with Stamping Blog Hop.  Details of where to hop to next will be found at the bottom of this post. There you will also find a complete list of everyone in the hop just in case you get lost. You will find lots of lovely inspiration on the hop. All of the ideas and projects have been posted by Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the country. So, here are the projects that I would like to share with you today.

The first one is a pencil holder that I found in a craft store. It has an inner clear plastic sleeve and is ideal for inserting/adding stamped images. For this project I have used the lovely Serene Silhouettes. There are four images in this set so it is ideal for a project like this. I used my Stampin' Write Markers to colour various parts of the stamps so that the images come to life.

I also used various punches (including the new 2-1/2" circle) to punch out images and some Designer Series Paper from the 2011-2013 In Color collection.

The second project that I want to share with you, was made using the lovely Besty's Blossoms stamp set along with the Betsy's Blooms Stampin' Wheel. I used a couple of the new In Colors - Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple together with some old favourites, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive. In the background you can also see a sheet of DSP from the Floral District pack.

One of the new features of the 2012-2013 Catalogue is the introduction of Product Suites. The Product Suites take the guesswork out of your card making as they are designed to give you a fully co-ordinated set of products - stamps, paper and accessories such as fabric, ribbon, and buttons.

For example, here is a photo of the Floral District Product Suite

Another feature of the new Catalogue is the reconfigured Stampin' Ink Pads. They come in the same familiar colours and cases but are jucier than ever. This is because the pads are now made from firm foam instead of fabric and as a consequence they hold more ink. Five of the colours have been re-formulated (Basic Black, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, and Tempting Turquoise) to improve their functionality with the new pads and it is recommended that you don't use your old formulated Refills on the new pads for these colours.

Just look at all the exciting benefits listed below:
  • Provide better ink coverage for your stamps!
  • Are available in all colors, including the new In Colors!
  • Light-tap stamping produces flawless images!
In addition, the new Stampin’ Pads
  • Create wonderfully solid images.
  • The Firm Foam releases more ink onto your rubber stamp than the felt pads.
  • When using the Firm Foam pad, your stamp will get an even, solid covering of ink that you may not have been able to achieve with the felt pads.
  • Come with colour name labels ---peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification!
  • Use the same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist!
Thank you for hopping over to my blog. I hope you have enjoyed looking at the projects that I have to share and also reading about some of the new features of the New Catalogue.  It's now time for you to hop over to Elaina's blog to check out the fantastic project she has to share.

Should you get lost hopping around the blog or find out that a link or two don't work then here is a list of all of those taking part. Don't forget you can pop back to my blog whenever you want and any comments you leave would be appreciated.
