A stunning Fun Fold card with the Splendid Day Suite

Today I sharing a stunning fun fold card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.

stunning fun fold for technique tuesday

You will find the list of blog participants (with links) further down this post. I hope you take a moment to sit back, relax and check out all the inspiration.

I enjoy making fun fold cards, particularly those that look really complicated but in reality are fairly simple. This is one such card.

stunning fun fold with Splendid Day Suite

I’m not really sure what this fold is called – underneath the sliding front panels is a double gate fold. Triple Panel Double Gate Fold card is a bit of a mouthful! The card fits neatly into a standard C6 envelope and looks like this when partly open.

When fully open you can see the inside panel for writing a message. Mine is decorated, you just can’t see the image because of the angle of the photo.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my card, and here are the details of everyone taking part in the blog hop.

Introducing the 2022-2024 In Colors

Today I’m spending a little time introducing you to the 2022-2024 In Colors. Yes, it’s nearly that time of the year when we say goodbye to one set of In Colors and welcome another.

Each set of In Colors (there are five in the set) are around for two years, and are the way that Stampin’ Up! keep up to date with the latest colour trends.

This year the five new colours are –

2022-2024 In Colors

These colours, and some of the products available in these colours were shared on a recent Stamping & Creating Live. I also mentioned that I have created a document that compares the new In Colors to current Stampin’ Up! colours. You can download and print a copy of the document by clicking on the picture below.

2022-2024 In Colors

As mentioned above, the video shows most of what will be available from 3 May. You can also check out the card I made. I used all of the 2022-2024 In Colors and the Sending Smiles stamp set. To view the video simply click on the following.

Seesaw Shutter Card using the Stunning Beauty of Friendship Bundle

Today I’m sharing how to make a Seesaw Shutter card using the Beauty of Friendship Bundle. This bundle is available this month as part of the Savings Are In Bloom promotion.

I made this card live during a Facebook Live event and the video can be found on my YouTube Channel. Details are below. The written and printable instructions are also available later in this post. So, I hope you give it a try.

Seesaw shutter card using the Beauty of Friendship Bundle

The card will fit into a standard C6 envelope provided there is not too much of an overhang on the sides. This card just squeezed in! It differs from the one in the video because I decided to change out the paper on the end panels and added an extra tree. I also added two cute birds.

Here’s the instructions for the card. You can download and print it too.

Geared Up and Stepped Up Garage

It’s time to share my Geared Up and Stepped Up Garage cards. You may recall that I shared the Geared Up Garage Simple Stamping No.4  last Saturday, so these are a little more complicated and or time consuming to make.

Geared Up Stepped Up Garage

Instructions for the Geared Up and Stepped Up Garage card above

  • Cut cardstock as follows
    • Thick Whisper White base card – 14.9 x 21.0 cm
    • Basic Black panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
    • Real Red panel – 9.5 x 13.9 cm, and
    • Whisper White panel – 9.0 x 13.4 cm
  • Use the same Pretty Label Punch to make part of the label for the sentiment, but used a 1-1/4″ Circle Punch for the sentiment itself.
  • Added some Black/ Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon. I love this ribbon because it is masculine enough to the used on a card for men.

Instructions for the card below

  • Cut cardstock as follows
    • Real Red cardbase – 14.9 x 21.0 cm (A5)
    • Basic Black panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm and
    • Whisper White panel – 9.5 x 13.9 cm. Stamp Real Red oil patches and Black nuts on this piece
  • Use the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies to die cut the sentiment and to make a feature of it.
  • Decorate the inside of the card using die cut Real Red and Basic Black. I’ll let you into a secret, the Real Red piece was the piece that fell out of the middle of the Real Red winged piece on the front of the card.

The Real Red piece inside the card was stamped using a greeting made up of two stamps. They came from the Thoughtful Banner stamp set.

Those of you who came to Saturday’s Classic Garage Retreat will recognise the second card. If you didn’t make it,  you can purchase the instructions for this card and the five other projects as part of the Classic Garage Collection.

Happy stamping

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.3 - Home to Roost

I’m sharing something a little different today with my Simple Stamping Saturdays No.3 post. The Home to Roost stamp set is one of the Sale-A-Bration offerings (free with a £45 spend), but when I first saw it an idea came immediately to mind.

In case you are wondering, the idea came from a memory of some wallpaper and some coasters that my mum had in the kitchen when I was growing up. Probably not to most people’s taste nowadays, but big back in the 70s.

The cards themselves are quick and easy to make. I simply used notecards, some ink and of course a stamp set. What I did different was to use my clear acrylic block (size D) to create a background. Gulp. Yep, I pressed the clear block into the ink pad and then stamped it onto the front of the notecard. What I like about this simple technique is that no two backgrounds are going to look the same, and of course you can use whatever ink colour that you like.

Top Tips for making the background for the Simple Stamping Saturdays No.3 cards

  • Make sure that the block is larger than the image you will eventually stamp.
  • Use a lighter colour for the background because you want to be able to stamp the image over the top.
  • Have plenty of paper towels or baby wipes around to clean the blocks.
  • Don’t be afraid to press the block into the ink pad. This is one time that you don’t need to be too light handed!

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.3 - Home to Roost from 2019 Sale-A-Bration

The first card above, has the block stamped three times (re-inking each time). Then I used two different colours for the cockerel (rooster). The centre image is stamped in the same colour as the background (Crumb Cake) and the other two (partial images) are stamped in Early Espresso. The sentiment was stamped in the same darker Early Espresso colour.

The three cards below show three of the four sentiments from the stamp set. Each sentiment is stamped onto the card in a different place to the other. I’m not sure which one I prefer but I’m leaning towards the one on the right. What about you? Leave me a comment and let me know.

I’ve put together a bundle of products that will enable you to make these cards and get the stamp set for free. You will find the details below. Simply click on any of the pictures below to jump to my Online store and then add the appropriate item numbers.

Happy stamping.

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge # 207

This week we have another sketch challenge from Karen, she's really on a roll with these.

I'm not sure about wiggly lines, especially because I don't have a trimmer that is suitable to cut cardstock or paper and I'm a bit lethal with a craft knife (only to myself). But, photopolymer stamps are great for curving. Especially those that have long thin images. Once I figured that out I knew exactly what I wanted to try.

It did take me a couple of goes to get a shape that I was happy with. In fact, there are three stamped lacy images on my project, and I actually had all three on the acrylic block at the same time. This  meant that I could stamp them all at once and there was no need to try to line things up individually.

The lacy images come from a stamp set called Delicate Details. It's one of the stamp sets you can currently get for free as part of Sale-A-Bration.

My card base is made out of Crumb Cake cardstock and I added both a Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla layer to the base card. You can see this better in the photo below.

I wanted to keep the card fairly neutral colour wise so I used Early Espresso and Crumb Cake inks. I used the Early Espresso for the lace and both Early Espresso and Crumb Cake for the banner/sentiment.

The sentiment and banner come from a stamp set called Banners for You.  There are in fact dies that can be used to cut out the banners, but in this instance I quickly fussy cut it out with a pair of paper snips. I finished off the banner with a couple of pearls because I felt it needed a little extra.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my project, please feel free to leave a comment. I hope you decide to enter a card for the challenge and you have until 11.00 pm next Monday (30 Jan) to do so.
