Sorry, this is the second posting of today. I've been so busy making bits and pieces for a craft fair that I am doing next week that I haven't had time to photograph the card that I made for a challenge. This week, I've been tempted by the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge and I'm a little late in posting this. Hopefully I am not too late and will manage to enter it in time.
The challange is to use Shaving Cream, Crayon or Pastels. Check out the following link for the details:
The HSS Shaving Cream, Crayon or Pastels Technique - Challenge #89
My card is a very simple square card made out of Whisper White card stock (3.75" x 7.5" folded). I matted a square piece of Pumpkin Pie polka dot paper from the
Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack onto the card base. The Old Olive tree was stamped from the Fun & Fast Notes set (sadly no longer available) and then coloured using
Stampin' Up! Watercolor Wonder Crayons in Real Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight and my
Aqua Painter. I have had the watercolor crayons sitting on my shelf for ages and had forgotten how much fun you can have with them.
The stamp is rectangular which is why the polka dots aren't even all the way round but I think that this is fine. It just shows you that you don't have to have everything set dead centre all the time. In any event, I punched two strips of Old Olive card stock using the
Scallop Border Punch and matted the stamped image onto these. I then stuck the image to the polka dot paper using
Stampin' Dimensionals.
I have had so much fun with the crayons that I am going to check out the new catalogue to see what new stamps I can use, but at first glance there is too much to choose from. Please check back in a few weeks to see what I've been tempted to try.
