I saw on the latest Create with Connie and Mary challenge that they had a colour challenge (CCMC322) involving Basic Black, Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry. The combination of these three colours remind me of Halloween but to tell the truth I'm not really into it. The kids are far too old for it now, and there's not much Trick or Treating going on in the area that I live. If I was still in San Diego I am sure it would be a different matter.
With that in mind, I decided to put one of my stamp sets from the Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter Catalogue to good use. I don't believe that stamps should be for only one season or event (depending on their name).
I chose to use the Letterpress Winter stamp set for the challenge. Because it's a photopolymer set it makes it really easy to do the Two Step Stamping. Everyone who knows me knows I like to keep my cards clean and simple so this set suits me down to the ground.
Here's the card that I came up with for the challenge.
The Tangerine Tango images were stamped first and then I added the Crushed Curry centres.
I fussy cut the large Basic Black image and also fussy cut a smaller Tangerine Tango one. The Crushed Curry greeting was punched out using a 1" Circle Punch. The whole of the centre image was put together using Dimensionals.
I used a Crushed Curry card base with a Basic Black mat for the Whisper White card stock on the front of the card, but did away with the Basic Black on the inside of the card. I added a Tangerine Tango image with Crushed Curry centre to the inside of the card just to add a little bit of interest.
You might have noticed the basic rhinestones that I added to the front of the card. I coloured these with the darker Daffodil Delight blendability, as I wanted to add a bit of bling without it being too noticeable.
