Anyway, it's the third Wednesday of the month so time for a colour challenge, and these are the three colours that I picked.
My first thoughts were to go floral but then I decided that I'd go out on a limb and do something a little different. In fact I didn't even use the main images from the stamp set, I simply used a sentiment and a background stamp.
The stamps come from the Bubble Over stamp set and I used a masking technique to stamp the bubbles.
To make the card -
- I started with a 10.5 x 29.7 cm piece of Rose Red cardstock, which I scored and folded at 14.9 cm to make the base card.
- On top of the base card I added a 10.0 x 14.4 cm piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
- In the centre of a 9.0 x 13.4 cm piece of Whisper White I stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink. I then masked off the sentiment using 2 strips of Post-It Notes (just the sticky bits) and then stamped the bubbles in Rose Red and then Bermuda Bay (cleaning the stamp in between of course).
- The stamped piece of Whisper White was then glued to a 9.5 x 13.9 cm piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock which was then added to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
- In the card I added a 10.0 x 14.4 cm piece of Whisper White which I'd stamped using Rose Red and Bermuda Bay.
The masking technique that I used is one of my favourites because it's a great way to achieve a clean and simple card where the focus is the sentiment. I hope that this inspires you to give it a go.
Don't forget to check out what the other members of the Design Team have designed for the challenge. You can find them over on the CAS Colours & Sketches Blog along with the link for you to add your project.
Happy stamping.
