A, B, C

I'm finally feeling that I'm getting back into the swing of things since getting back from the USA.  It's been an odd month. Leaving the kids in the USA took quite a toll on me (far more than I thought it would) and a health scare that had been hanging over my head for the last few months has not helped.

The kids are happy at college, although getting in contact with Michael is pretty hit and miss - I think it's a boy thing and I'm working on the basis that no news is good news. Jenny is another matter as we speak/see each other a couple of times a week.  I love technology. The health thing is sorted and I'm now recovering from what turned out to be very minor operation.

A couple of days ago I spotted a new Stampin' Up! YouTube video on the internet and it gave me an idea for this months Thank You cards.

One of the items that I had bought as part of my pre-order for the Annual Catalogue (way back in July) was the Little Letters Thinlits and the video features a number of ideas for their use. You can see for yourself by clicking on the link below.

OK, so I have to admit that I took the easier option (I did have quite a few of these to make), but watch this space for more cards using the thinlits.

Here are some of the cards that I made. If you purchased Stampin' Up! goodies from me over the last two months one of these are winging their way to you.

All of these cards feature the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Pack. I cut each sheet to 13.9 cm x 9.5 cm, to fit behind the Whisper White card stock (14.4 cm x 10.0 cm) but the longer piece that had been cut off was used inside the card to add a little more interest. I also added back in the centres of the letters ( the Os and As) as I thought that this type of card is a little more formal and needed them. You don't have to include them, as it's all a little fiddly because you will have to cut down the Dimensionals.

More July Birthdays

As I mentioned in one of my posts earlier this month, July is full of birthdays. I've already shared the card that I made for my friend Pip, and these are the ones that I made for Esther and Pauline.  Pauline shares the same birthday to me - not just to the day but to the year too, but I'm not going to tell you how old we are this year.

Both of these have different sheets of Designer Series Paper from the All Abloom Paper Pack.

I like the more stylised form of flowers on these particular sheets and you may notice that I used some Basic Rhinestones for the flower centres. I coloured some of the Rhinestones with my Blendabilities so that they did not look so stark.

Both of the labels come from the same stamp set but the bottom card has an additional greeting on it. I stamped and then punched this out and then used a scrap piece of Mossy Meadow to punch out another banner to place underneath to simply highlight it more.

My nephew Jack also shares the same birthday as me (he's somewhat younger than me, though!), so as I said, July is full of birthdays. I was planning on sharing his card in a couple of days but just checked and realised that I didn't take a photo of it before I sent it. Oh well.

Anyways, today's projects were made using the following Stampin' Up! products.

If you would like to purchase any of these products you can simply click on the photo and it will take you to my online store.

Lots of Happy Birthdays

The summer months are really busy with birthdays.

I was one of the younger kids in my school year, my birthday is at the end of this month and I share it with a friend and also one of my nephews.  I have a few more friends with birthdays this month too. As a result, alot of my crafting last week was taken up with making Birthday Cards.

One of the birthday's was this past weekend, so I think I'm OK to post a photo now.

The photo does not do the card justice - it really is far better in real life and I can't re-photo it because it went in the post last week! I only hope that Pip liked it.

The background paper comes from the new All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. I love these stacks, they are such great value. The pack of 48 sheets (measuring 11.4 cm x 16,5 cm) costs £6.25. The size of each double sheet means that there is very little waste when using it for a card front.

The tag comes from the Tag Talk stamp set. I punched out the greeting using the Label Bracket punch and then punched out two Mossy Meadow labels that I cut in half and mounted behind the stamped greeting.

The ribbon is one of the new 1/4" (6.4 mm) Cotton Ribbons.  This one is in Daffodil Delight and it's really soft and easy to use.

I'll be sharing the other birthday cards once the relevant days have passed.
