Stampin' Stars Sketch Challenge

Just thought I'd share my entry for the recent Stampin' Stars sketch challenge.

Here's the sketch that we were given as a base idea.

 

I played around with it a little bit and this is what I came up with.

 

I have also made a mother's day version for my mum, but I know she occasionally looks at this blog (I put the link on her iPad) so I thought it best not to put that version on here.

Stampin' Up! supplies used

Stamp sets : Regarding Dahlias and Express Yourself (hostess set)

Card Stock : Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Early Espresso

Speciality card stock : Brushed Gold and Gold Foil Vellum

Ink : Soft Suede and Early Espresso

Accessories : Gold Sequin Trim

Golden Anniversary

I was asked to make a Golden Wedding Anniversary card by a friend of my mother's.  In addition to this, my supply of cards is also low so I decided yesterday to make two cards and then Betty can have the choice of what to send. The other can be used another time, or it will go to a craft fair along with others.

The two cards that I made are completely different, as you can see for yourself. They do have a few things in common. Namely, the Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Brushed Gold Card Stock, Memorable Moments stamp set and the use of the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Stampin' Supplies used:

Stamp set : Memorable Moments (both) and Apothecary Art (R)
Card Stock (both) : Very Vanilla and Brushed Gold
Ink : VersaMark (both), and Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso and So Saffron Stampin' Write Markers (R)
Accessories : Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Simply Scored Diagonal Plate (L), Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies (L), Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (L), Labels Framelit dies (R), Dimensionals (both).

You will notice that the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder (on left) is slightly smaller (shorter) than the standard A6 card that we use here in the UK. I cut down my base card so that there was an even edge all the way around.

The card on the right was CASED from one that I had seen on Pinterest - I need to track back to see who made the original. It is slightly different as I used a stamp for the greeting and I did not colour all the flowers.  I wasn't going to colour any of them but decided to colour just a few and cut them out and add them to the card with Dimensionals under them.

I'm not sure which of these is my favourite, as they are so different. I will leave you to decide which is yours.
