Colouring with Clear Wink of Stella - Card & Stamping Techniques

Colouring with a Clear Wink of Stella brush is a quick and simple way to add colour and sparkle at the same time.  To create the card featured in this post, I used a couple of the new 2021-2023 In Colors and a new stamp set called Flowers of Friendship. Both of these can be found in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.

The trick to colouring with a Wink of Stella brush is to make sure that there’s not too much wink on the brush when picking up the ink. Ask me how I know!

Cutting instructions for the card are as follows

Evening Evergreen cardstock

  1. 14.9 x 21.0 cm scored and folded in half at 10.5 cm
  2. 3.5 x 6.0 cm for sentiment

2021-2023 In Color 6″ x 6″ double sided paper (Polished Pink) – 10.0 x 14.4 cm

Basic White cardstock

  1. 8.0 x 11.0 cm – die cut using largest rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
  2. 3.5 x 6.0 cm – die cut using the next one up from the smallest rectangle in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. For stamping sentiment.
  3. 10.0 x 14.4 cm for decorating and then gluing inside the card
  4. Scrap to stamp and colour an extra flower head.

If you would like to see how I made the card, check out my YouTube video.

Crafty Challenge Blop Hop - Sketch Challenge with Flowers of Friendship

Today I’m taking part in the Crafty Challenge Blop Hop, and we have been tasked with using a sketch. You will find a list (with links) of all those taking part further down this post.

The sketch, designed by Stefanie Pletscher (AKA the Crafty Medic) looks like this.

I’ve chosen to use some new products from the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. The combination of The Flowers of Friendship Bundle (Flowers of Friendship stamp set and coordinating Flowers & Leaves Punch) and two of the new In Colors simply called to me.

My only problem is that I couldn’t decide which colour to use for the sentiment.  Fresh Freesia (above) or Polished Pink (below). So, the easiest option was to do both. Actually, I cheated. The first card is the Fresh Freesia one and the same sentiment for the second was stamped in Polished Pink and then die-cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I then simply added it on top of the original using Stampin’ Dimensionals! This is also a great way to hide a boo boo.

I love the small Loose Flourishing Flowers that I added to the centres of the flowers and as the accent around the sentiment circle. There are two different sizes and these are the smallest.
