CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge # 203

You probably weren't expecting to see another blog challenge post today, but I'm delighted to tell you that I have been picked to be one of the 2017 Design Team members.

This week the challenge is to pick one of the 2016 Sketch Challenges and make it seasonal.

I've opted to use the first sketch challenge of 2016.

So, this is the card I designed.

The card was made using Night of Navy and Pool Party cardstock and ink.

The Pool Party cardstock was embossed using the Lucky Stars embossing folder and then glued to the Night of Navy cardstock.

The sentiment stamped in Night of Navy comes from the Tin of Tags stamp set. This is been one of my most used stamp sets from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. I used an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies - these will be available for purchase again mid January 2017.

The snowflake stamped in Pool Party ink comes from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and it was punched out using the co-ordinating punch.

As you can see, both the sentiment and the snowflake are popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals and I added a rhinestone in the middle of the snowflake to add a bit of Christmas bling.

I hope you give this week's challenge a go because it is the last challenge of 2016.

Just so you know, from January I will be posting my design for the weekly challenges each Thursday.

As always, please feel free to leave a comment and I hope you visit again soon to check out my latest posts.

Swaps glorious swaps - Part 2

The other day I shared photos of the 3D swaps that I received at a recent team training event. Today it's the turn of the cards that I received. And wow, they are gorgeous - but you can see that for yourselves.

Barry and Jay - these talented gents used the Lovely as a Tree
and Wonderous Wreath stamp sets along with some
clear embossing powder on the tree in the foreground.

Carol Cresswell - Flurry of Wishes in Night of Navy
and White Craft ink with some Dazzling Diamonds
Glimmer Paper, all punched out using the Snow Flurry Punch.

Christine Widdowson - Lighthearted Leaves and Oh What Fun stamp sets
highlighted with some Gold Glitz Dazzling Details

Esther Boulter - Gorgeous Grunge and To You and Yours Too stamp
sets with a Silver Glimmer star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack

Maggie Poland - All ye Faithfull stamped in Black and a star punched
using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

That's all of the swaps received but never fear I will have more to share once I get back from Brussels. I'll be heading there mid November for a Stampin' Up! event so I guess I'd better get on with making some more swaps for that.

A flurry of warm wishes

This is the second of this week's posts where I have used some Designer Vellum in my project.

Today I'm featuring the Silver Vellum that is in the Holidays Fancy Foil Vellum pack. As I said on Monday, the pack contains 9 lots of 12" x 12" sheets - 3 each of 3 different designs.

I love this vellum and wanted to accentuate the silver snowflakes a little. I did this by using a piece of Soft Sky card stock behind it.

The Night of Navy and Soft Sky ink and card stock is lovely for Christmas cards and I used a combination of the two colours on the stamped snowflake. The centre of the snowflake is one of the winter Wonderland Embellishments.

I'll be making a few more of these cards to give to family for Christmas. I was tempted to post a few but the added embellishment means that it would have to be sent as a large letter. Oh well.

Details of the Stampin' Up! products that I've used are as follows:

I have one more vellum project to share with you and I'll be posting it in the next couple of days. In the meantime, please feel free to leave me a comment about my current project.
