Have you ever tried the Watermarking Technique? It’s super simple and can be achieved with a Versamark Ink Pad or an ink pad the same colour as the card stock you are using. The former gives a much more subtle effect. Talking about subtles, I’m continuing this week’s theme of using the Subtles Collection of colours.
The Mint Macaron card stock on the left has been stamped using Mint Macaron ink. You could stamp off onto scrap first before stamping onto the card stock to get a more subtle effect. On the right, a Versamark ink pad was used. As you can see, the effect is far more subtle.
I’ve made two cards to share with you today. They both use the same supplies with the exception that the landscape card has a Versamark stamped background. The portrait card has a Mint Macaron stamped background.
Basic Instructions for these Watermarking Technique cards are as follows
- Balmy Blue cardstock – 10.5 x 29.7 cm
- Score and fold the card stock in half at 14.9 cm to create the card base.
- Mint Macaron cardstock – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
- Stamp image randomly all over the card stock using a Versamark Ink Pad. Or, use Mint Macaron ink if you would like the image to be bolder.
- Adhere the card stock to the front of the card using glue or dimensionals (foam pads).
- Whisper White card stock – 7.0 x 10.0 cm
- Stamp the pen image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
- Colour images using Stampin’ Blends. I used the Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs Balmy Blue, Mint Macaron and So Saffron.
- Die cut out using Stitched Rectangle Die which is slightly larger than the image.
- Balmy Blue card stock – scraps
- Die cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Die which is the next size up to the one used for the stamped and coloured image. Glue this to the back of the coloured image and then adhere to the card front using dimensionals (foam pads).
- Stamp sentiment onto another piece of scrap using Balmy Blue ink and then die cut out using the shortest Stitched Rectangle Die. Adhere to the card front using glue or dimensionals (foam pads).
- Whisper White card stock – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
- Stamp image in the corner and colour them using Stampin’ Blends.
- Glue the Whisper White panel inside the card.
