Springtime Impressions - Coordinating Dies for Abstract Impressions

The Springtime Impressions dies are designed to work with the Abstract Impressions stamp set but to be honest they work well by themselves too. I’ve have however, combined the two for today’s project.

Springtime Impressions

The Springtime Impression die was used to both die cut a piece of Whisper White card stock and to emboss the panel on the front of the card. Not at the same time of course!

The sentiment and images on the inside of the card all come from the Abstract Impressions stamp set. I used the masking technique to stamp the sentiment so that it would fit into the circle from the Stitched Shape Dies.

Springtime Impressions

If you would like to be able to replicate this or any of my other Abstract Impressions card, and need the stamp set and or dies please consider purchasing them from my Online Store. You can do so by clicking on the images below.

Happy stamping.

Abstract Impressions cards - Stepped Up Sunday

It’s Sunday so time to step up yesterday’s Abstract Impressions cards. I’ve used the exact same colour combinations as yesterday but added layers using double sided paper and card stock.

This first card has a 9.0 x 13.4 cm piece of See A Silhouette double sided paper sitting on a 9.5 x 13.9 cm piece of Granny Apple Green card stock.

Inks used are Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Mint Macaron and Poppy Parade. The image has been stamped onto a 7.0 x 7.0 cm piece of Whisper White. This in turn sits on a 7.5 x 7.5 cm piece of Granny Apple Green card stock.

If supplies are limited then this second card is a great way to use what you do have. The only difference with this card (apart from the colours) is that I made my own background card stock to use instead of the double sided paper. This tone on tone effect is achieved by using the same colour ink and card stock together. In this case Coastal Cabana.

Abstract Impressions cards

I’m letting you into a little secret. There’s a boo boo on one of the cards that I did not spot until after I’d taken the photo! Can you work out which card it is?

If you need to add the stamp set or inks to your stash please consider purchasing them from my Online Store. You can do so by clicking on the images below. Don’t forget there is free shipping this month on all orders of £25 or more (excluding P&P) because it’s my birthday month.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.21 - Abstract Impressions

With 63% of the vote, Abstract Impressions is my featured stamp set for this coming week. This also means that today’s Simple Stamping Saturdays No.21 also features the stamp set.

The stamp set consists of 14 photopolymer stamps. Some of the images are for 2 or even 3 step stamping. Today’s cards have been kept to 2 step stamping. One thing that I love about the stamp set is that it’s very forgiving. It does not matter if you are slightly off with your lining up – the results are still lovely.

I have to put my hand up and admit that the stamp set took me out of my comfort zone. I love clean and simple lines but as the name of the stamp set suggests it is very abstract. This didn’t put me off and I hope you like the results.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.21

This first notecard uses only Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green ink plus Tuxedo Black too. I wanted to see what the images looked like if you had a limited number of ink pads to use.

To achieve the different shades of grass

  • Stamp-off the image first onto a piece of scrap paper. This gives a lighter image on the card. Then,
  • Over stamping using the other image, but without stamping off.

To achieve the different shades in the flowers

  • Stamp the larger image first. Then
  • Over stamp in the same colour using the smaller images.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.21

The second card I went to town with when it came to the ink colours. I used four different colours (excluding the Tuxedo Black) to create the card. The colours used are – Mint Macaron, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo are Poppy Parade.

I’m not sure which of the two cards I prefer. Both are great in their own way.

Abstract Impressions - CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #320

Today’s sees the first of May’s challenges and this month Patricia will be setting them for us. I’ve used the Abstract Impressions stamp set for the colour challenge.

I love these three colours but when I came to start my project I realised that I did have any Mango Melody ink with me. Because of this it became one of the colours used for the card front.

Abstract Impressions for CAS Colours & Sketches 320

Here’s a quick peek inside the card.

Abstract Impression - no nude insides here

Wondering how the flower was stamped? Simply, ink up the solid image with the Melon Mambo ink and then stamped-off onto scrap paper. Then stamp the image onto the Whisper White panels. The second image is stamped over the top using the same colour (not stamped off).

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my card. Don’t  forget to check out the cards made by the rest of the design team. You can find the cards together with the link to add your card over on the CC&S blog.

Happy stamping
