A week of Awesome Otters

There’s been a whole week of Awesome Otters and the various projects made using the Sale-A-Bration stamp set.

The week started with some simple stamping.

Left – simple stamping of the party hat direct to base card using Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody and Poppy Parade ink.

Middle – party hats stamped and coloured using same ink as that on the left. This time the hats were fussy cut and then added to the base card using Stampin’ Dimensionals

Right – party hats stamped and coloured as per left and middle cards but in this instance they were die-cut using the Tasteful Labels Dies. The dies were also used to cut the coloured banners.

Next we had two otters swimming by to say hello. For this card the images were combined with the Marbleous double-sided paper (another Sale-A-Bration offering) and the Picture This Dies.

week of awesome otters

Lastly, there’s the syncronised swimming otters. These were my project for my Stamping & Creating Facebook Live this past Wednesday.

You can view the video below to see how I used the Stamparatus stamping tool to create these cards.

If you would like to purchase any of the products used and don’t already have a UK demonstrator, I would love to help you. If emailing me, I will be in touch re payment. Either way if your order is £45 or more (excluding P&P) you will qualify for a free Sale-A-Bration item.

Clean and Simple with the Classic Cloche Bundle

I don’t know about you, but I tend to err towards clean and simple cards. Some would argue that my cards are not that simple, but when you break it down things are not as daunting as you first think.

Wednesday’s Facebook Live was all about keeping it simple with the Classic Cloche stamp set and the Cloche Dies. They are available individually and as a bundle. The bundle saves you 10% so it’s a really good deal.

Use the Classic Cloche Bundle to create clean and simple cards

The three projects shared involved notecards. These are a great way of keeping it simple. Each pack contains 20 notecards and 20 envelopes so there is no need to cut any card stock to create your cardbase.

clean and simple with the Classic Cloche stamp set from Stampin' Up!

The clean and simple card on the left has the image stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink directly onto it.

The stamp set is a “Two Step” stamping set, which means that

(i) the top of the birds are stamped (one stamp with both images) in Soft Succulent and

(ii) all the branches are stamped at the same time in Crumb Cake.

If you are a new stamper, you might want to colour the images using Stampin’ Write Markers or Watercolor Pencils. I would not suggest Stampin’ Blends because they bleed through the card stock.

The card on the right looks a little more complicated but it really is clean and simple.

(i) Using Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the sentiment directly onto the card front. You can opt to leave the sentiment in it’s “normal” straight line or bend it a little. The Classic Cloche stamp set is made from photopolymer which means (a) it’s clear so you can see through it and (b) thin images and sentiments can be bent a little into an arc.

(ii) Stamp the image of the village onto a circle of card stock using Tuxedo Black ink and then colour it. I used Assortment 1 of the Watercolor Pencils but you can use Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Write Markers. Clear Wink of Stella was used to blend the colours and give a lovely sparkly finish.

(iii) Add the circle to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

clean and simple - add colour to the Classic Cloche images and then some wink of stella to finish

The last card I shared made use of some of the dies from the bundle. I pre-cut some Old Olive trees and two Basic White pieces for the landscape. Putting them all together and applying yet more Clear Wink of Stella, my final card was this.

clean and simple card using the Classic Cloche Bundle from Stampin' Up!

I even added a few trees to the inside of the card to finish it off.

Supply List for my Clean and Simple Classic Cloche cards

The following is the list of products used on my cards.

If you would like to purchase any of the items used and don’t already have a UK demonstrator, I would love to help you. You can either send me an email with a list of the items you are interested in or Shop online.

(i) When shopping online and ordering less that £150 worth of products, don’t forget to use this month’s host code – XEUYUDTF.

(ii) Spending more than £150, please don’t use the code. You will have your own rewards to spend, which means you can order extra products for free from the current catalogues or clearance rack.

(iii) Don’t forget that August and September are Sale-A-Bration months. This means that for every £45 spent (excluding P&P) you can choose an item from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

(iv) Alternatively, if you are spending more than £99 why not join the Crafting Acorns and receive a discount on the orders you place. You normally select £130 worth of new product and pay £99. Simple Stamping with Corner Bouquet from Sale-A-Bration

It’s been awhile since I’ve tried some Simple Stamping. The Corner Bouquet stamp set from the current Sale-A-Bration offering is one that fits the bill for this style of card. The stamp set is free with a £45 spend.

Corner Bouquet Simple Stamping

The card above was been made by firstly stamping the smaller image. And, then stamping the larger image. This second image is stamped over the top of the first , but only once it has been stamped off onto a piece of scrap paper.

The cards below have been made by stamping the image once and then re-stamping again. You don’t however re-ink the stamp and the image is stamped slightly higher or lower than the original.

Corner Bouquet Simple Stamping

To make the cards I used

  • One ink pad,
  • Some Thick Basic White card stock,
  • Rhinestones,
  • Corner Bouquet stamp set from Sale-A-Bration,
  • And a stamp set with suitable sentiments.

Hopefully you have enjoyed seeing these Corner Bouquet cards. If you need any of the supplies you can shop with me by clicking on any of the pictures below

I’ll have more to share another day but in the meantime, Happy Stamping.

Simple Stamping Sale-A-Bration Style

I love simple stamping so decided to make a board for a recent show which I’ve called Simple Stamping Sale-A-Bration Style. I took  three of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets and designed three levels of card with each of the stamp sets.

simple stamping sale-a-bration style

The three stamp sets are The Gang’s All Meer, Happy Birthday To You and Thoughtful Blooms. Each of these stamp sets are available for free with a £45 spend (excluding P&P).

  • Cards on the left are simple single layer cards that use, stamps, ink and notecards. A couple have been coloured using Water Colour Pencils (no water involved though).
  • The middle column involves a technique such as masking, fussy cutting or punching.
  • Cards on the right involve a few more techniques and products such as dies and  embossing folders.

Here are the cards from the left-hand column in more detail

Banded Together Bundle with Simple Stamping and More

Today I have both a simple stamping card (no. 26) and a stepped up card too. Both made using the Banded Together Bundle.

The simple stamping note card involves a spot of colouring using watercolor pencils. The pencils were used as colouring pencils – no water involved.  The main image comes from the Band Together stamp set.

Banded Together

The colours used are Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Old Olive.

Banded Together

This stepped up card involved colouring with Stampin’ Blends (dark So Saffron, dark Calypso Coral and dark Old Olive), die cutting and layering. Not everything was coloured. The leaves were stamped onto Old Olive card stock and then die cut. A bit of a cheat but a great time saver.

To make the centre flower stand out a little, it has been popped up on dimensionals (foam pads).

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.24 - Accented Blooms & Bird Ballad

Time for Simple Stamping Saturdays No.24. This week features the Accented Blooms stamp set and Bird Ballad double sided paper. The Bird Ballad double sided paper is included because it’s this week’s featured item.

The first card is really quick and easy to make and simply needed a pair of scissors.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.24

Basic Instructions

  • Stamp sentiment across  the 3.0 x 13.0 cm strip of double sided paper.
  • Cut out the image (two simple V shapes) and discarded.
  • Make a note was made on the reverse of the paper to say which is the top piece.
  • Stamp sentiment again in Calypso Coral but this time onto the front of the notecard.
  • Glue the two pieces of double sided paper to the card front and trim ends as needed.

The other two cards involved stamping the sentiments onto a piece of Calypso Coral card stock before gluing it onto the notecard. Don’t be afraid to partly cover a stamped image with double sided paper (as per the card on the left) or to leave things simple with just paper and sentiment.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.23 - Blue is the colour...

Hello and welcome to Simple Stamping Saturdays No.23. All of this week I will be featuring cards for men, including today.

I have three cards to share with you all the same but different colours. There is a reason for this as explained below the first card.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.23

As I was making the first card I was wondering how I could personalise it but still keep it simple.

A thought then struck me. With the recent start of the 2019 football (soccer) season using colours matching  the colours of the recipients favourite football team would be a good idea.

It took a bit of searching but I found a web-site that has all the colours for teams in the Premier League (www.teamcolorcodes.com).

I don’t really have a favourite football team as I don’t follow the sport. When I was young I supported Liverpool FC so I’ve used their colours for this second card.

simple stamping saturdays no.23

The team colours are red, green and gold.

I opted to use Real Red, Bermuda Bay and the new Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad that will be available from 4 September.

The third card is for a West Ham fan. Their colours are Maroon, Blue and Yellow so I opted for Cherry Cobbler, Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight. These three colours matched the logo more than others.

If you would like to be able to make my original Simple Stamping Saturdays No.23 card, and need the supplies please consider purchasing them from my Online Store. You can do so by clicking on the images below. Of course, you can check out what colours best match the football team and choose those colours instead.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.22 - Subtles Family

Hello and welcome to Simple Stamping Saturdays No.22. This week all my projects will be made solely using colours from the Subtles Family from Stampin’ Up! I will have to throw in black, white and vanilla too though. The choice of colour collection is a result of a poll I held on my Facebook page. Check out the page on Wednesday for your chance to vote for next week’s featured item.

Today’s cards have been kept very simple and I’ve only used three colours – Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Blushing Bride.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.22

The sentiments on this card come from the Itty Bitty Birthday (Happy Birthday) and the Itty Bitty Greetings (Celebrate) stamp sets.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.22

The card on the left is the same card as the one at the top. The card on the right uses the same stamps as before but only two colours (assuming black is classified as a colour). I wanted to share that –

  1. You don’t need to have lots of ink pads and stamp sets to create a simple but effective card. The Happy Birthday sentiment has been stamped three times and the stamp was not reinked in the Calypso Coral ink pad.  The sentiment therefore gets lighter and creates an ombre effect. The same method was used for the black “Celebrate” sentiment.
  2. A simple but effective card can be created using solely sentiments. Think about what stamp sets you have and what you can combine to create a fun card.

If you would like to be able to replicate these Simple Stamping Saturdays No.22 cards, and need the stamp sets and or inks please consider purchasing them from my Online Store. You can do so by clicking on the images below.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.21 - Abstract Impressions

With 63% of the vote, Abstract Impressions is my featured stamp set for this coming week. This also means that today’s Simple Stamping Saturdays No.21 also features the stamp set.

The stamp set consists of 14 photopolymer stamps. Some of the images are for 2 or even 3 step stamping. Today’s cards have been kept to 2 step stamping. One thing that I love about the stamp set is that it’s very forgiving. It does not matter if you are slightly off with your lining up – the results are still lovely.

I have to put my hand up and admit that the stamp set took me out of my comfort zone. I love clean and simple lines but as the name of the stamp set suggests it is very abstract. This didn’t put me off and I hope you like the results.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.21

This first notecard uses only Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green ink plus Tuxedo Black too. I wanted to see what the images looked like if you had a limited number of ink pads to use.

To achieve the different shades of grass

  • Stamp-off the image first onto a piece of scrap paper. This gives a lighter image on the card. Then,
  • Over stamping using the other image, but without stamping off.

To achieve the different shades in the flowers

  • Stamp the larger image first. Then
  • Over stamp in the same colour using the smaller images.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.21

The second card I went to town with when it came to the ink colours. I used four different colours (excluding the Tuxedo Black) to create the card. The colours used are – Mint Macaron, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo are Poppy Parade.

I’m not sure which of the two cards I prefer. Both are great in their own way.

Do you need to add the stamp set  or inks to your stash? Please consider purchasing them from my Online Store by clicking on the images below. Don’t forget there is free shipping this month on all orders of £25 or more (excluding P&P) because it’s my birthday month.
