CAS Colours & Sketches - Challenge # 247 - The Double

October this year has five Tuesdays in it, so Emma’s last challenge for the month is a double one. A colours and a sketch combination.

All of the colours above are retired, some even before I’d even heard of Stampin’ Up! This means that I don’t have them in my ink collection. Instead, I have opted to go for the following, which I think are the closest current ones.

I also decided to make a standard UK size A6 card instead of a square one like that in the sketch.

I used the Floral Phrases stamp set for this card. The top strip is made from a 2.0 cm wide piece of Marina Mist and I stamped the image in Marina Mist too. 

The bottom strip is a 2.0 cm wide piece of Sahara Sand on which I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I then added the little Real Red Enamel Heart from the Brights Enamel Shapes.

I cheated a little with the inside of the card and simply used a die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to cut out the strip of hearts from the piece of Whisper White. This means that the Real Red card base shows through the cute little cut out hearts. Much quicker and easier than stamping a whole row!

CAS Colours & Sketches - Challenge # 224

I hope you enjoyed my challenge last week. This week it's the turn of Emily to host, and being the third Tuesday of the month, it means that it's time for a sketch challenge.

Here's what Emily has for us.

Don't forget you can rotate or flip the sketch, but I decided to leave it as is.  This is what I have made using the Floral Phrases and Crazy About You stamp sets.

September's Class Kit by Post

People have often said to me that they wished they lived closer or didn't already have a commitment on class day, so I have decided to introduce a new class option - the Class Kit by post. These will be  the same projects as the regular monthly class and will cost the same too.

This month, the class was titled "Blue is the Colour" and I'm sure you can guess what the primary colour was that we used.

The class consisted of four notecards (with envelopes) together with a cute box to put them in. This is what they look like.

The kit costs £15.00 (including P&P) and includes:

• A private link to the printable instructions so that you can make and also replicate the cards and box in the future. This link will be emailed to you within 24 hours of receiving the payment.
• Cut and pre scored cardstock together with pre cut Designer Series Paper to make the box.
• Pre cut Designer Series Paper and matting layers for the cards.
• Pre cut die for one of the cards.
• All embellishments to decorate the box and cards.
• Four Whisper White Notecards with envelopes. One of these will have the oval etc pre-cut for you.

The kit will not include any stamped images in accordance with Stampin' Up!s angel policy. You can however substitute sentiments and images you already have, or you can purchase the stamp sets used. It is entirely up to you.

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge No. 185

I've been busy with my preparation for my September classes, the first one is titled Blue is The Colour, and involves lots of Night of Navy and a little bit of Pool Party too.

Despite being busy with this, it didn't stop me checking out some of the current challenges and lo and behold, the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge involves the colour blue. This was honestly not planned.

It therefore seemed apt that I should make a card for the challenge. This is what I came up with using the three colours asked for, and the Floral Phrases stamp set.

I used Stampin' Write Markers in each of the three colours, mainly because I wanted to shorten the length of each the image each time. The left-hand colour is Marina Mist and all the flowers and stems were inked and then stamped.The last two flowers and stems were not inked with the Dapper Denim and the last four flowers and stems were not inked with the Night of Navy.

I used a different image from the same stamp set for the inside of the card - giving it a more formal appearance.
