Rose Wonder Gifts

Every month I recognise three of my team in the team newsletter and send them a little appreciation gift.

These are the gifts I made and sent for February and March.

Each of the bags has a piece of cardstock (either Island Indigo or Rose Red) in it to hide the gift.

I die cut each of the roses and leaves and then glued them onto co-ordinating coloured cardstock. Once the glue was dry I then fussy cut around each of the die cuts. A little fiddly in places, but still pretty quick to do. I love the look and it's far easier to do than trying to glue pieces in.

Each of the roses also has Clear Wink of Stella brushed on. It gives a lovely sheen to the cardstock.

The greeting and banner/tag come from the Rose Wonder stamp set. It is one of the items in this week's set of Weekly Deals. Don't forget that this is the last week for the deals so don't miss out.

Details of some of the products that I used are as follows:

Please note that as part of the Weekly Deals (13 -19 April inc) the stamp set has been reduced to £18.00. If you are interested in purchasing both the stamp set and the dies then it would still be cheaper to purchase the bundle for £44.00.

Weekly Challenge - this time colour

I'm probably a little late coming to the party, but I've decided that this year I'm going to attempt to take part in a card challenge once a week. I know that there will be weeks when I'm away from home when I fail in this attempt, simply because I won't have what ever I need to hand, but I'm going to try.

This week I decided to take part in the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge again - the latest one #161 is a colour one.

These colours are a little challenging to me because they are not ones that I use that often. I love Wisteria Wonder and use have it on occassion, but Elegant Eggplant is a different matter.

I've been wanting to use my Rose Garden Thinlits Dies for sometime and thought it could be something I could use for this challenge. This is what I came up with.

This is a pretty simple technique. I used the die on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and removed the flower. I then placed a slightly smaller piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock behind it to fill in the gap. The whole thing was then glued to the Wisteria Wonder base card.

I then die cut another rose from a Silver Foil cardstock sheet and carefully glued this in place.

The greeting comes from the co-ordinating Rose Wonder stamp set. I stamped it and the border in Elegant Eggplant onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder and cut it out using another of the dies from the Rose Garden Thinlits.

I did umm and ahh about adding some bling to the greeting but decided against it because it detracted from the silver foil.

The inside is simple - three stamped images of the smaller flower from the stamp set.
