New Team Member Gifts - Acorny Thank You

Now that I have the Acorny Thank You stamp set and co-ordinating punch, I've gone slightly overboard and started making more formal welcome gifts for new team members.

I thought I'd share the most recent ones with you because they would make good small gifts for anyone.

I started with some Soft Suede cardstock and inked up the Woodgrain Embossing Folder with some Soft Suede ink using a Brayer before running it through the Big Shot.  It's great, because no two pieces look the same.

The wording on the card comes from the Welcome Words stamp set. I simply mounted the "Welcome" and "To the" on one block and "Team" on another block. The "Team" was stamped first in Cajun Craze and then I stamped the rest in Chocolate Chip.

The acorn was also stamped in Chocolate Chip (for the nut part) and Cajun Craze (for the cup part). There was no need to fussy cut because there is a co-ordinating punch to make life simple. The acorn on the card has a few strands of the Gold Metallic Thread tied in a box around the stalk.

The gifts are Post-It-Notes. Something every stamper should have if they want to do the Masking Technique, but they are good for marking pages in the Stampin' Up! catalogue too!! I'll be posting instructions on how to make these cute gifts early next month.

The whole thing is held shut by some Gold Foil Paper, this means the whole of the front slides off. I may have been a little too heavy with the Gold Metallic Thread on these but I've come to the conclusion that the more of it that you use, the easier it is to use.

I hope my lovely new team members like these.

As always, please feel free to leave comments.

#lovethestampinacorns

Last weekend the OnStage Live and OnStage Local were held. The Live event was in Salt Lake City which meant that the Local events were in Europe and the South Pacific.

Some of my team (the Stampin' Acorns) went to Telford but I was on holiday in Australia with my husband. I did manage to go to an OnStage Local event but it was not really that local as it was on the Gold Coast. I'll post more details and photos another day.

It's usual for uplines to give Team Gifts to downlines going to a Stampin' Up! event with you. In theory we went to the same OnStage Local event, because they are global events where everyone gets to see and do the same thing. In practise, they weren't even on the same continent so I left mine behind with one of my team to give out to people. It's not their fault I wasn't there.

Anyway, here's the gift packages that I left with Esther.

I love the acorns from the Acorny Thank You stamp set. So cute and apt for my team.  Can you spot the dimensional backing that managed to creep into the photo!? They get everywhere, LOL.

Here's a closer look at the packaging.

I'm not sure that people were able to get to the contents without ripping the bag because a fair amount of the Tear & Tape Adhesive was used.

The bag itself was embossed using the Woodgrain Textured Impression Embossing Folder that I had brayered Soft Suede ink over. The embossing folder didn't quite meet the end of the bag but I disguised this by running some of the Botanical Washi Tape around it. Guess this means the secret is out now.

I used the acorns as tags so that I could write people's names on.

I'm really hoping that the stamp set and punch make it into the new Annual Catalogue, but if they don't I certainly won't be parting with them.

Rose Wonder Gifts

Every month I recognise three of my team in the team newsletter and send them a little appreciation gift.

These are the gifts I made and sent for February and March.

Each of the bags has a piece of cardstock (either Island Indigo or Rose Red) in it to hide the gift.

I die cut each of the roses and leaves and then glued them onto co-ordinating coloured cardstock. Once the glue was dry I then fussy cut around each of the die cuts. A little fiddly in places, but still pretty quick to do. I love the look and it's far easier to do than trying to glue pieces in.

Each of the roses also has Clear Wink of Stella brushed on. It gives a lovely sheen to the cardstock.

The greeting and banner/tag come from the Rose Wonder stamp set. It is one of the items in this week's set of Weekly Deals. Don't forget that this is the last week for the deals so don't miss out.

Details of some of the products that I used are as follows:

Please note that as part of the Weekly Deals (13 -19 April inc) the stamp set has been reduced to £18.00. If you are interested in purchasing both the stamp set and the dies then it would still be cheaper to purchase the bundle for £44.00.
