Nests of Winter with four cards from one kit

I used the Nests of Winter suite of products at the most recent Card & A Cuppa events. The suite is one of the collections in the new Sept-Dec 2024 Mini Catalogue from Stampin’ Up! The same kit is given to all those who attend, and I made three samples beforehand. The fourth card was made during a Facebook live.

The kit always includes double-sided paper plus all the card stock needed to create a card. Occasionally, a die-cut or two are also included in the kit. Those attending the in person event get to use my stamps and ink. But, those who play long with the virtual session, need use their own stamps and ink since I’m not permitted to send stamped images in a kit.

The paper comes from the Nests of Winter 12″ x 12″ paper pack. You’ll find birds on five of the sheets. Individual printed birds can be fussy cut. But, there is one sheet of paper that can cut up and used as a card fronts.

Here’s the sheet of paper mentioned above and which I used. Simply cut the one sheet into 6 pieces for quick, simple and adorable card front.

I used both the frame and the inside portion to create the three cards taken to the event.

The cards have a Copper Clay card base, two pieces of the Nests of Winter paper (one for front and other for inside), and a die-cut piece of Copper Clay. The Copper Clay panel was die-cut using the large frame die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies.

Check out all the cards in more detail and see how the fourth card was made on my YouTube Channel. The video description contains all the cutting instructions for the kit.

Finally, I hope you have enjoyed seeing the four Nests of Winter cards.

Happy stamping.

Latest Card & A Cuppa with a fabulous combination

The kit was used to create three cards for the event at the Grange Chocolate Cafe. A few days later I shared the three cards and made a fourth one live on Facebook. See below for the link to the video now on YouTube.

  • Although I used all the pieces, I didn’t use 100% of each one.
  • The die-cut Fresh Freesia frond was firstly used as a stencil. Afterwards, it was cut up and glued under the popped up sentiment.
  • Because of the way one of the pieces of Perennial Lavender paper was cut, the card was turned to make a landscape card.

Would you like to see how the cards were made in more detail? if so, you can check out the video using the link below.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the latest Card & A Cuppa cards.Don’t forget that July means bonus codes so the bundle will qualify you for a £4.50 code valid for use in August. Add a pack of paper and place your order on Tuesday (23 July) and it will qualify for free shipping too.

First Card & A Cuppa with a new bundle

Apologies for the delay in posting this. 1 May saw our first Card & A Cuppa with a new bundle from the 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue.

The Country Birdhouse Bundle features both the Country Birdhouse photopolymer stamp set and the Country Birdhouse Dies. We used these in conjunction with the 2024-2026 In Color 6″ x 6″ paper.

These are the three card samples made with the kit (above) which went to the Card & A Cuppa event.

A fourth card was made during the recording of the Virtual Card & A Cuppa event.

Bee Mine Collection with a cute wobble bee

I used items from the Bee Mine Collection to design the kits for January’s Card & A Cuppa.

Most of the sheets of paper from the Bee Mine 12″ x 12″ paper pack have a valentines and or sweet bee design. Many of the bees are also large enough to be fussy cut with a pair of paper snips. Because of this, a bee for people to fussy cut just had to be included in each kit. What’s more, everyone had the option to create a wobble piece for the bee. At the in person event and also the Facebook Live I shared how to create the “wobble”. It’s mega simple and simply involves two strips of cardstock.

Here is one of the sample cards that I took to the in person event.

The Bee Mine 12″ x 12″ paper is so sweet and can be used for a variety of occasions not just for Valentines Day.

I hope you like my latest creation using the Bee Mine Collection. If you would like to view the video to find out how to create the wobble you will find it using the link below.

Introducing the Perfectly Penciled Card & A Cuppa kit

This week I held the first of August’s Card & A Cuppa sessions. There are four cards to share made using the Perfectly Penciled Card & A Cuppa kit.

Perfectly Penciled Card & A Cuppa

As you can see from above, the kit contains a Sweet Sorbet base card and also rectangular pieces of cardstock and the Perfectly Penciled 12″ x 12″ paper. I love this black & white paper, there’s no need to colour it. But, if you do want to, you have a choice of colouring the whole piece or simply picking out an element to highlight.

Three pre-made cards went with me to Card & A Cuppa. Then, in the afternoon I made a fourth one live on Facebook. As well as the kit, I used the Charming Sentiments stamp set and coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. The dies take the stress out of having to fussy cut around each sentiment.

The top row and bottom left cards were taken to Card & A Cuppa.
The bottom right card was made live on Facebook

The recording of the Facebook Live has been uploaded to YouTube and you will find it by clicking on the picture above or by clicking HERE. The YouTube description also contains the cutting instructions for the kit.

Giving the Christmas theme a miss for this Card & A Cuppa

When designing the November Card & A Cuppa kits I decided that I would be giving the Christmas theme a miss for just one of the kits. That doesn’t mean that there was no Christmas card made, just that the kit was not one to make you think Christmas when you first saw it.

The kit was designed using the Blackberry Beauty double-sided paper. The rich dark colours in the paper have a very Victorian feel, which I love.

Christmas Theme A Miss - Blackberry Beauty colours

Here’s the kit that was sent to those who ordered it.

Cutting Instructions for the kit are:

  • Early Espresso base card – 10.5 x 29.7 cm (scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm).
  • Early Espresso panel – 6.0 x 14.9 cm for the front of the card. See below too.
  • Basic White panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm for inside the card.
  • Basic White label – scrap cut out using a die from the Tasteful Label Dies.
  • Blackberry Beauty double-sided paper –
    • 5.5 x 14.4 cm glued to the Early Espresso panel.
    • 2 lots of 3.0 x 14.4 cm for the front of the card.
    • 1.5 x 10.0 cm for gluing on Basic White panel.

Other items used are

  • Embellishments – Gilded Gems and Early Espresso Faux Suede trim
  • Stamp sets – Beauty of Tomorrow and Best Year (sentiments)
  • Ink – Early Espresso and Blackberry Bliss

These are the three cards I took to the cafe as inspiration.

If you would like to purchase any of the products used to make these cards, and don’t already have a UK demonstrator, I would love to help you. You can either send me an email with the list of items you would like, or shop online. If emailing me, I will be in touch re payment.

Snowflakes at the latest Card & A Cuppa event

We had lots of fun with snowflakes at the latest Card & A Cuppa event. There were die-cut snowflakes and stamped ones too.

Snowflakes

The basic kit features the Whimsy & Wonder double-sided paper, an iridescent snowflake from the pack of Wonderful Snowflakes and a Misty Moonlight snowflake die-cut using the Stitched Snowflake Dies.

Cutting instructions for the kit are

  1. Thick Basic White cardstock – Base card of 14.9 x 21.0 cm scored and folded in half at 10.5 cm
  2. Basic White cardstock – 2.0 x 14.9 cm
  3. Misty Moonlight cardstock – Scrap for die-cutting snowflake
  4. Whimsy & Wonder double-sided paper –
    1. 2 different pieces each measuring 6.0 x 14.9 cm
    2. 1.5 x 14.9 cm for inside the card.

I took three samples with me to the Grange Chocolate Cafe. Most people choose to do one of them but sometimes someone likes to do their own thing, taking ideas from each card. And, I’m totally fine with that.

It’s so nice to be able to chat and craft in person again. I know that, not everyone can make the get together so I also do a virtual event in the afternoon. The added bonus to that is that I make a fourth card live. This is it, using the same kit as all the others.

Orders for November’s Card & A Cuppa Kits is now closed but you can still order the kits for December by CLICKING HERE.

Sweet Symmetry paper and a punch - what a great combo!

Last week’s Card & A Cuppa kit featured the Sweet Symmetry paper and a punch. A great combination for sweet and simple cards.

Instructions to make your own kit are as follows:

  1. Bumblebee card stock – 14.9 x 21.0 cm scored and folded in half at 10.5 cm to create the card base.
  2. Calypso Coral card stock – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
  3. Basic White card stock – die cut using the 3rd die down from the largest rectangle in the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
  4. Sweet Symmetry double-sided paper – I chose two different sheets to punch out using the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch.
  5. Basic White card stock – 10.0 x 14.4 cm for inside the card.

Having cut 3 kits for myself, I shared three cards on my facebook live. Two were made beforehand and the third live.

Sweet Symmetry paper and a punch

The thing about card kits is that you don’t have to use every single piece and there’s nothing wrong with even cutting up the pieces in the kit. The middle card above has every single piece from the kit on it. The card on the top of the pile (and also the one below) is still the same kit but I’ve turned the punched rectangles over to use the other side and I also cut down the piece of Calypso Coral card stock.

Sweet Symmetry paper and a punch

Details of the items used to make these Sweet Symmetry paper and a punch cards are below
