Nests of Winter with four cards from one kit

I used the Nests of Winter suite of products at the most recent Card & A Cuppa events. The suite is one of the collections in the new Sept-Dec 2024 Mini Catalogue from Stampin’ Up! The same kit is given to all those who attend, and I made three samples beforehand. The fourth card was made during a Facebook live.

The kit always includes double-sided paper plus all the card stock needed to create a card. Occasionally, a die-cut or two are also included in the kit. Those attending the in person event get to use my stamps and ink. But, those who play long with the virtual session, need use their own stamps and ink since I’m not permitted to send stamped images in a kit.

The paper comes from the Nests of Winter 12″ x 12″ paper pack. You’ll find birds on five of the sheets. Individual printed birds can be fussy cut. But, there is one sheet of paper that can cut up and used as a card fronts.

Here’s the sheet of paper mentioned above and which I used. Simply cut the one sheet into 6 pieces for quick, simple and adorable card front.

I used both the frame and the inside portion to create the three cards taken to the event.

The cards have a Copper Clay card base, two pieces of the Nests of Winter paper (one for front and other for inside), and a die-cut piece of Copper Clay. The Copper Clay panel was die-cut using the large frame die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies.

Check out all the cards in more detail and see how the fourth card was made on my YouTube Channel. The video description contains all the cutting instructions for the kit.

Finally, I hope you have enjoyed seeing the four Nests of Winter cards.

Happy stamping.

Quick and Easy Cards with Frames & Flowers

Sometimes you just want to make quick and easy cards but don’t want to compromise on the look and feel of the cards. The answer is the Frames & Flowers Specialty 12″ x 12″ paper. The pack contains

  • 3 different double sided sheets of paper, and
  • 3 different sheets of pre-printed die-cuts

Of course, all six sheets can also be used to decorate scrapbooking pages – the die-cuts would make gorgeous accents.

The above are images of just two out of the three pages of die-cuts. I used some of the die-cuts to create these cards.

The cards were simple to make –

  • At the top – there’s a die-cut frame with a bunch of die-cut flowers in the centre. The base is a piece of Soft Sea Foam and there is also a panel of Basic White.
  • At the  bottom – there’s a die-cut panel together with a wreath. The sentiment comes from the Poised Peony stamp set, but I used a piece of washi tape to hide the word at the top of the sentiment. I also used a Stampin’ Write marker to add the dots and dashed around the sentiment.

I hope these cards have inspired you to try the Frames & Flowers yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Happy stamping

The Lifetime of Love Bundle is one of those that can be used for all sorts of romantic occasions. With Valentines Day just a couple of weeks away there will inevitably be marriage proposals, weddings and of course anniversaries to celebrate.

The bundle is part of the Forever Love Suite but can be purchased individually should you not be tempted by all the other items in the suite.

Forever Love Suite Collection

My recent Stamping & Creating facebook live event featured the Lifetime Of Love Bundle along with the Forever Love 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper. Here’s the card I made.

One option that I forgot to mention on the video is to use a Foam Adhesive Sheet when die-cutting. You are then able to pop-up the die-cut rather glue it direct to the card front. I’ll be giving this a go next time.

Bee Mine Collection with a cute wobble bee

I used items from the Bee Mine Collection to design the kits for January’s Card & A Cuppa.

Most of the sheets of paper from the Bee Mine 12″ x 12″ paper pack have a valentines and or sweet bee design. Many of the bees are also large enough to be fussy cut with a pair of paper snips. Because of this, a bee for people to fussy cut just had to be included in each kit. What’s more, everyone had the option to create a wobble piece for the bee. At the in person event and also the Facebook Live I shared how to create the “wobble”. It’s mega simple and simply involves two strips of cardstock.

Here is one of the sample cards that I took to the in person event.

The Bee Mine 12″ x 12″ paper is so sweet and can be used for a variety of occasions not just for Valentines Day.

A Little Bit of Stamping & Creating using the Flight & Airy Paper

This week there was a little bit of Stamping & Creating going on. I shared the Flight & Airy 12″ x 12″ paper from Sale-A-Bration along with the Everyday Details bundle on a Facebook Live. The bundle can be found in the new Jan – April 2024 Mini Catalogue.

A little but of Stamping & Creating

The pack of paper contains 12 sheets (2 each of 6 different designs) and features a variety of very cute birds on one side. The reverse sides are great for all sorts of things. You can choose a pack of paper for free when you spend £45 during Sale-A-Bration.

There’s no specific stamp set or bundle designed to coordinate with the paper but there are many suitable sets that the birds can be paired with. I chose to combine it with the Everyday Details Bundle from the Jan-April 2024 Mini Catalogue.

If you would like to see the bundle, paper and how I made the resulting card in more detail you can view the video now on the Oakfield Crafts YouTube Channel. Click on the following to view.

I hope you like my latest creation from a little bit of Stamping & Creating. Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube Channel so that you get to see new videos as they are uploaded.

Scrap Happy Cards for Men

These scrap happy cards for men are made using scraps of paper from the 2023-2025 In Color 6″ x 6″ paper. You can of course use them as inspiration for any double-sided paper that you have. Alternatively cut up an used pack to recreate them.

Both of these scrap happy cards have three same sized vertical strips. I couldn’t work out how I managed to have the dots following across but then remembered that I’d cut all three pieces at the same time and used the other pieces for other projects.

The card on the left was made using three different sizes of double-sided paper. The card on the left uses four different sizes/width of paper.

I kept these cards simple. For three of the cards I stamped onto some Basic White cardstock and then die-cut using the Nested Essential Dies. The fourth card involved stamping directly onto the scrap piece of double-sided paper.

Details of the supplies used to create my scrap happy cards are below. If you live in the UK or Ireland and don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I would love to help you.

Don’t forget that there are still a few days left to earn a £4.50 (€6.00) bonus code for each £45.00 (€60.00) you spend. The codes are redeemable in August.

Let's Celebrate with a Birthday Blog Hop

July is my birthday month so I’m celebrating by joining in the Crafty Collaborations Birthday Blog Hop.

Birthday Blog Hop

There are a few friends and family who actually share the same birthday as me, including my nephew. But, this blog hop is designed to celebrate and share birthday ideas in general. I hope you enjoy checking out all the ideas, and, you’ll find the links to those taking part further down this post.

I had my friend, Lorrie, in mind when I designed my card using the Les Shoppes 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. There was a fair bit of fussy cutting involved but I think she’s worth it.

Birthday Blog Hop - Les Shoppes Bendy Card

This Bendy Card is fun to make and is surprisingly easy. It starts as two pieces of card, cut to the same size. One is then cut on the short side so that one piece is wider than the other. You’ll find the basic cutting and scoring instructions below.

The great thing about the card is that when the two bendy front pieces are unlocked, the card will fit into a standard size envelope.

Using the Les Shoppes paper for some Stamping & Creating

The Les Shoppes paper was one of the packs I bought during the recent paper sale.

Les Shoppes

The 12 sheets (2 lots of 6 different double sided sheets) have really sweet images of shops, food, books and paint on one side. The other sides have patterns and houses to coordinate.

There is a bundle to go with the Les Shoppes paper called Let’s Go Shopping.

But I have yet to purchase it. Mind you, if you enjoy fussy cutting then the paper lends itself to some very cute cards. This is what I did for a recent Stamping & Creating facebook live.

These are the cards I designed and made prior to the live.

The only stamping on these Les Shoppes cards is a couple of sentiments. Both sentiments come from the Go To Greetings stamp set and I used them as the shop signs.

The forth card was made live and looks like this.

You can find the video on YouTube or view it here –

Available Soon - One Horse Open Sleigh Collection

The One Horse Open Sleigh Collection along with other new products will be available in the Online Exclusives from 6 July.

One Horse Open Sleigh Collection

I shared details of the collection in a recent Stamping & Creating Facebook Live along with a number of cards that I had made.

The first set of three cards simply involved stamping direct to the One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ paper.

Letting the paper do all the work – simply stamp sentiment direct to paper and
add some embellishments

The next three cards are a little more involved. There’s some stamping, die-cutting and some colouring.

The last set of three were fancy fold cards. These two were made in advance. The one on the left is a pillar card which folds flat for posting. The one on the right is a very simple stepper card.

The last card, made live during the Stamping & Creating session, is what I call a Panelled Book Fold Card. The panel on the far right is in fact inside the card.
