Cute Buttons for CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #323

It’s Tuesday so time for the latest CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge. I made some cute buttons to go on this week’s design team card.

Today’s challenge sketch from Patricia looks like this.

Since arriving back from the USA on Friday, I’ve been busy preparing for this coming Saturday’s Annual Catalogue launch. My craft room is in complete chaos but I found time to make this.

The Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Pacific Point buttons were made using the Arts & Crafts Dies that will be available from 4 June.

The buttons were paired with a sentiment from the Crafting Forever stamp set.

Cute Buttons on a card for the CAS CC&S challenge 323

The cute buttons card is made as follows –

  • Pacific Point card base – 10.5 cm x 29.7 cm. Scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm
  • Crushed Curry panel – 2 lots of 10.0 x 14.4 cm.
  • Whisper White panel – 2 lots of 9.5 x 13.9 cm
  • Stamp the Pacific Point sentiment onto one of the 9.5 x 13.9 cm pieces of Whisper White.
  • Die cut buttons using scraps of Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Pacific Point cardstock and the dies from the Arts & Crafts Dies.
  • Adhere the buttons to the stamped Whisper White panel as per the sketch.
  • Glue the Whisper White panel to one of the Crushed Curry panels and then fix to the card front using foam pads.
  • Decorate the second Whisper White panel with more buttons. Then adhere it to the second Crushed Curry panel. Lastly, adhere the whole thing inside the card.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing my cute buttons sneak peek card. Don’t forget to check out the cards made by the rest of the design team. You can find the cards together with the link to add your project over on the CC&S blog.

Crafting Forever - CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #319

Today is not only the last but also the fifth Tuesday of the month. This means that it’s time for a Double Challenge – Colours and a Sketch. This week I’m using the fun Crafting Forever stamp set for my project.

All three colours for the challenge have retired and I no longer have them. I’ve therefore gone with three colours that I think are the closest in the current Stampin’ Up! colour palette. The colours that I’ve gone with are Mango Melody, Pool Party and Melon Mambo.

I turned the sketch 90° because I thought the image and sentiment would work better together that way.

Crafting Forever - challenge no 319

I had so much fun making this card and the sentiment is just ideal for us crafters. Let’s face who doesn’t feel better after a bit of crafting? Not that we really need an excuse!

Tips for the Crafting Forever card

A few techniques have been used on the card, namely

  • Colour the Paint brushes in the pot using Stampin’ Write Markers.
  • Stamp the pot itself  onto Pool Party cardstock. Then it  cut it out by hand, Lastly glue it over the image on the Whisper White oval. This is known as Paper Piecing.

For the envelope

  • Stamp the whole image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • Insert a scrap of cardstock into the envelope under the image. This will ensure that the colour does not bleed through.
  • Colour the image using Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers. Use the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend for the pot because it’s a large image and you do not want streaky colouring.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my card. Don’t  forget to check out the cards made by the rest of the design team. You can find the cards together with the link to add your card over on the CC&S blog.

Card & A Cuppa

I've been running these events at The Grange Chocolate Cafe for some months and they are proving to be a huge success. I've met some lovely people over the months and most of them now come back on a regular basis because it's a great chance to get out of the house and do something fun.

The Card & A Cuppa's are held on the first Wednesday of each month from 10.00 am to 11.30 am. And, each drop in session costs £5.00 and for that you get to make a card and enjoy a cup of coffee/hot chocolate or a pot of tea (it's your choice). Cold drinks are also available.

There are always two cards to choose from. Both are made using the same supplies (cardstock, layers, punches etc) but people can swap images and sentiments as they so choose between the cards.

These are the cards that people had a choice of yesterday (5 July).

Case Colours & Sketches - Challenge # 221

It's the first Tuesday in May and that means it's time for a colour challenge.

This month, a few of us are taking it in turns to host the challenges. This week it is the turn of Samantha. Here's the colours that she chose.

This is what I came up with using these colours and two images from a new stamp set (available 1 June) called Crafting Forever. You could call this a sneak peek.

It's a super cute set and I know that it's going to be a big hit with crafters of all kinds.

I've also used a new punch that will be available next month.

I hope you give the challenge and go and don't forget to check the fabulous projects from the other members of the design team.
