Hooray for Today

Today's project was made to go with box that I featured on the 1 July blog hop.

I am working on the tutorial for the box and it will be up by the end of Saturday (5 July), promise.

Apparently today is going to be the warmest days of the year so far. So glad that my craft room is in the basement where it's lovely and cool. I'm going to be down there most of the day working on the tutorial and also preparing for Saturday's New Catalogue Launch.

Today's projects was made using the following Stampin' Up! products.

Hope to see you at the Catalogue launch on Saturday and if you can't make it,  I will be posting some photos afterwards so you will get to see what went on.

Oh Hello, fancy Tea for Two?

Today I am sharing the last of the projects made at last weekend's training with Natalie.

I've already shared a photo of the box of cards that we made, so I thought it was time to share the five cards that are in the box.

Here's the box again. It holds 5 cards with
envelopes but there is room for
another 1 or 2.

These are the 5 cards that I made.

Stampin' Up! supplies used:

Stamp Set : Oh Hello
Card Stock : Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake
Designer Series Paper : Tea for Two
Ink : Early Espresso
Accessories : Honeycomb Embossing folder, Basic Pearls, Early Espresso and Island Indigo Baker's Twine, Very Vanilla C6 envelopes, Dimensionals and Paper Snips

Training days are always fun, although I have to admit that they are a bit of a drive away - 55 miles (some of it around the M25 ). As long as the traffic is good, it only takes 70 minutes but if bad then....

Tonight I have a group of local demonstrators over for a get together. I have prepared a card for them all to make and I'll share it with you tomorrow.

Spring has Sprung into Red Nose Day

Sprung has Sprung was the theme for last night's monthly card class (and this morning's too).

There is a slight twist to it, as yesterday was Red Nose Day and 50% of the class fee from last night and today is being donated to Comic Relief - 100% if people wore their red noses (red hair and boppers counted too). Last night we raised £40 and there will be more to add from later today.

Many thanks to Nicky for making the Red Nose cupcakes, even though she could not make it to class because she had her son's school play to go to. They were delicious as always.

There were four projects in class and here is one of them.

I have seen quite a few of these flower pot cards around on the internet but I thought I would make one using the new Secret Garden stamp set from the Spring/Summer catalogue.

To save time I also used a template that I found from Andrea Walford to make the flower pot and of course the fabulous framelit dies that co-ordinate with the Secret Garden stamp set. I firmly believe in making and taking the easy route if there is a co-ordinating punch or die. Cutting out is very therapeutic but with a class of people, using the Big Shot and Dies is a "no brainer".

Stampin' Up! supplies used

Stamp set : Secret Garden*
Card stock : Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, and Whisper White
Paper : 2011-2013 In Color Pattern Designer Series Paper (Wisteria Wonder)**
Ink : Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder**
Accessories : Honeycomb Textured Impressions embossing folder*, Secret Garden Framelits dies*, Scallop Edge punch, Brights Buttons, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Dimensionals and Basic Rhinestones.

* From the Spring/Summer Catalogue
** 2011-2013 In Color. Don't forget these colours will no longer be available after 30 June 2013. Don't forget to stock up on Card stock, Designer Series Paper, Re-inkers, Brads, and Ribbon before then.

The flowers are stuck to a piece of Whisper White matted onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and the whole thing can be pulled out of the flower pot base. There is space for you to add your greeting and the whole thing when put back together fits into a C6 sized envelope.

Sorry for my shadow in the photo.

More Amore valentine

A couple of days ago I had a few other demonstrators over to my house for a crafty session. Each of us brought our own Spring/Summer stash to play with and share.

This is one of the cards that I made that day.

I made a few other things that I'll share another time but I love this valentine's card and wanted to share it now.

Card Challenges

What with all this horrid snow we have been experiencing and the cancellation of yesterday's team training because of it, I thought I should do something creative. I put the creative part of my brain in gear and decided it was time to take part in another card challenge. In fact, I am hoping that this card meets the requirements of two challenges!

The first is one that I found on the Freshly Made Sketches Blog. It is, Freshly Made Sketches #69 - by Linda S

As the name implies, it is a sketch based challenge and here is the sketch that the cards are to be based on.

The second challenge I found on the SU Only Challenge blog. SU Only Challenge #62 - New Toys!

As the title implies, the challenge is to use "New Toys". I have just received my pre-order goodies from the Spring/Summer Seasonal Catalogue so I thought that this challenge was a good incentive to get them out and have a play.

So here is the card that I came up with and, I hope it fills the criteria for both challenges. Please feel free to leave your thoughts and comments.

The card was made using mainly products that will be available as part of Sale-A-Bration and from the forthcoming Spring/Summer Catalogue. The only "old" stamp set used came from the Lacy & Lovely set that was introduced in the current annual catalogue so it's not exactly old!

Don't forget Sale-A-Bration starts next week. You are going to love all the FREE choices that will be available to you.
