Latest News - 30 March 2020 Newsletter

The following is a copy of my 30 March 2020 Newsletter. With all the things going on (or not) in the world today I wanted to reach as many people as possible. Please read on…

I had planned to share a new tutorial this week in my weekly newsletter but with all that’s going on in the world I decided to sit back for a few days, take a break and re-evaluate things.

My Stampin’ Up! business is really important to me because I love all the face to face interaction with my team and with you all through my classes, card & a cuppa and other events. All this has had to stop for the time being, but this doesn’t mean that I’m giving up. Nor have I stopped crafting!

30 March 2020 Newsletter

Supplies used for this 30 March 2020 Newsletter card are as follows. Clicking on the picture will take you to a downloadable pdf were you can see things in more detail.
30 March 2020 Newsletter - Ornate Garden Supply List

Those of you who know me well, know that the internet service where I live is dire. Anything which requires me to go online such as Facebook Live or YouTube just doesn’t work very well. Both both my daughter and hubby are now working from home, so things are even worse!

So, this is what I am planning to do, and I hope you will support me in any way you can.

1. At the start of each month I will be sending kits to those of you who usually attend Card & A Cuppa.

There will be two kits in each pack to cover both Wednesday’s that will be missed (and save me postage). The kits are free – I just want to encourage you to continue crafting.

If you don’t normally come to Card & A Cuppa, I am happy to send you the kits but you will need to let me have your UK address. Email me to request your kit – April’s is going out today and I do have a couple spare.

Each Wednesday that the Card & A Cuppa would have been held I will attempt to do a Facebook Live. Please bear with me if it does not work out. I will simply carry on and record it. It will then be posted to my Facebook page. A picture of the kit and the card will also be posted to Facebook that same day and in this newsletter the following week.

2. Classes and Kits by post will be available.

There will be various options available –

  • Simple Kit costing £20.00 (inc UK postage) which will contain supplies for 3 cards and the instructions. These will be great kits for those of you who are just starting on your card making journey or just want to keep your hand in. There will be no stamped images but all necessary cutting, die cutting, embossing and punching will have been done for you. You can then add your own sentiments or use the printed (not Stampin’ Up!) sentiments I send.
  • Class Kit which will cost £30.00 (inc UK P&P to you). The kit will include the stamp set, supplies for 4 cards (cardstock, paper etc) and the instructions. Please note that
    • the stamp set (and any optional items you choose to purchase) will be sent direct to you by Stampin’ Up!
    • other elements of the kit will be sent to you by me. Base cards and any die cut or embossed elements will have been done for you, but you will have to cut the rest of the cardstock etc and as mentioned above, there will be options to add on extra items such as coordinating dies.
  • Class Instructions Only – these will cost £10.00 but will be free if you place a min £30 (excluding P&P) online order that month.

Full details of April’s Classes (which will be featuring the Ornate Garden Suite) will be going on my Blog on 1 April. You will be able order and pay direct (VISA, VISA Debit or MasterCard) from there too.

Ordering for the Class Kit will only be open for a week to ensure that the kit gets to you in the month you order it.

3. New Series of Free Tutorials

I’ll be working with Robbie and Vicky again to bring you more free tutorials. In April we will be featuring the Best Dressed Suite.

Sale-A-Bration and Coordination Products

Sale-A-Bration ends tomorrow. Don’t miss out – place your order today by visiting my Online Store.

Ornate Garden Suite from the 2020 Annual Catalogue – 1 April Release

Stampin’ Up! are releasing the Ornate Garden Suite on 1 April. It’s a chance for you to see and craft with products that will be in the 2020 Annual Catalogue.
I already have items from the suite (as can be seen from the picture at the top) and I’m in love with the Ornate Style Bundle.

You can buy the whole suite (one of everything – 2 bundles, paper, embossing folder, gems and ribbon pack) or just bundles or single items. You decide.

30 March 2020 Newsletter - Ornate Garden coming soon
Remember, bundles save you 10% on the cost of the two individual items.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the 30 March 2020 Newsletter. Any questions let me know. Don’t forget to drop me an email with your address if you would like to receive the next free Card & A Cuppa Kit. They are being posted later today so don’t miss out.

Stay safe and happy stamping.

Sale-A-Bration starts here

This is your go to place for the next three months because Sale-A-Bration starts here today – 3 January.

For those of you not familiar with the Sale-A-Bration event it’s something Stampin’ Up! offer once a year as a thank you to customers and demonstrators (yes, we get to take part too).

There are three ways that you can take part. How you do it is up to you.

  • Join the Stampin’ Up! family and become one of the Crafting Acorns
  • Shop either online or in person
  • Host an event – online or in person

Full details about each of these options can be found on my Sale-A-Bration and Sale-A-Bration Sensation page.

There are some additional things I want to share with you.

  • Shop online and use the host code. When the code is closed at the end of each month and the total sales come to £275 or more, there will be a drawing for someone to win the cute Little Ladybug stamp set. Your name will be entered for each £45 you spend. So, spend £90 and your name will be entered twice. Here’s a peek at the stamp set and January’s code.

sale-a-bration starts here Jan code

  • Attend one of the All Day Retreats in either January, February and or March. If 5 or more people attend an event, then a random name will be picked from those attending. The winner will receive a Little Ladybug stamp set in addition to the kit and their chosen free Sale-A-Bration item. You can find out more about the retreats and classes by visiting my Classes page.

Here’s one of the cards I’ve made with the stamp set. And, yes, I did fussy cut both the flower and ladybug out. Just so you know, there are some dies for the stamp set coming out on 3 February. Watch this space for more info about them and other dies that co-ordinate with Sale-A-Bration stamp sets.

  • 12 Weeks of Sale-A-Bration Tutorials are being sent to all my newsletter subscribers.  The tutorials are a mixture of fun fold and 3D items. A  tutorial a week will be sent to those on my newsletter. The first tutorial goes out on 4 Jan (tomorrow), so there’s still time to subscribe and you can do so by clicking on the following.    SUBSCRIBE HERE

Now that you know that Sale-A-Bration starts here, I hope you will pop back. Oh, and don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletters to get those free tutorials.

Happy stamping.

This Months Newsletter Card

On Wednesday I sent out my monthly newsletter to those on my subscription list. Every month I try to include a photo of a recent project that I've made together with all the news and updates of what's going on in the Stampin' Up! world.  I also include a link to an exclusive tutorial of how to make one of the projects in the current catalogue(s) - I call it my How Did They Do That tutorial. I won't be sharing the tutorial today, as only those who subscribe to the newsletter have access to it.

But, this is my project that I featured this month.

As you can probably guess, I used the Thoughtful Branches Bundle to make it.

The card is made using two 14.9 cm x 10.5 cm pieces of Crumb Cake cardstock.  This means it will fit into a C6 envelope (Standard UK size card).

Basic directions on how to make the card are as follows:
  • Both pieces were scored at 1.5 cm, 2 cm, 12.9 cm and 13.4 cm.
  • Cut an oval cut out using the largest of the dies from the Layering Ovals Collection from one piece.
  • Stamp leaves in Tip Top Taupe onto the piece of Crumb Cake with the cut out oval.
  • Stamp grass (Pear Pizzazz), and trees (Early Espresso) onto a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 10.0 cm x 10.0 cm. Make sure that the grass image is wider than the oval.
  • Glue the Very Vanilla piece to the front of the second piece of Crumb Cake (no oval cut).
  • Burnish the score lines on both pieces with a Bone Folder.
  • Glue top and bottom pieces of Crumb Cake together - just the 1cm wide ends up to the first score line.
  • When the glue is dry, gently push the ends towards each other to produce the gap between the front and back pieces where the Very Vanilla sits. You might need to tweak it a bit so that it will stand up.
  • Cut an Early Espresso tree using the die from the Beautiful Branches dies (available as part of the bundle or separately) and glue it to the front of the card - be careful not to place the glue where the tree overhangs the cut out oval.
I hope you give this a go.

Card from my Newsletter

Each month I send out a newsletter to customers and others who have also requested it. This month it featured a card that I had made using the new Blendabilites, and I promised to put the details on here.

This is the card that I made and featured.

This was a pretty simple card to make.

The embossed detail is a piece of Pool Party card stock that I embossed using the Fun Frames Embossing Folders. I then cut the frame out and mounted it on a piece of Coastal Cabana using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The flower from the Flower Shop stamp set was coloured using my new Coastal Cabana Blendabilities.

The full list of Stampin' Up! products used is as follows:

One of the pieces of news that I shared in this month's newsletter is this month's Stampin' Up! promotion.

http://www2.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=3563&dbwsdemoid=5002893

Yep, if you have always wanted to get your hands on one of these fabulous machines, now is the time. Purchase one before 31 August and you will be able to choose one FREE  bundle (stamp set and matching framelits) from the five exclusive bundles.

If you already have a Big Shot then you are able to purchase these exclusive bundles at a 15% discount.
