Fun W Fold Card using Bloom Where You're Planted

There was fun to be had last Wednesday while I shared a Fun W Fold Card. Some Facebook Lives simply don’t go to plan but I kept going.

This is the card that I made.

Fun W Fold Card

I also used the Plentiful Plants stamp set and coordinating Perfect Plants dies.  You can purchase the stamp set and dies individually or save yourself 10% by purchasing the Plentiful Plants bundle. Just so you know, a number of the dies coordinate with the Bloom Where You’re Planted double-sided paper.

Fun W Fold Card

Cutting Instructions for this fun W Fold card are as follows:

  1. Evening Evergreen cardstock
    1. Base card – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm
    2. Strip on inside – 3.0 x 29.7 cm scored at 7.0 cm, 14.0 cm and 22.7 cm
    3. Squares – 4 lots of 4.5 x 4.5 cm
  2. Basic White cardstock
    1. 10.0 x 14.4 cm for front of card
    2. Squares – 4 lots of 4.0 x 4.0 cm
    3. Stitched Rectangle – 4.5 x 7.5 cm for stamping sentiment and die-cutting using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
    4. Scraps for stamping plant pots, and plants using the Plentiful Plants stamp set
  3. Bloom Where You’re Planted double-sided paper
    1. 2 lots of 10.0 x 14.4 cm for inside the card
    2. 9.5 x 13.9 cm for front of card
    3. 4.0 x 14.9 cm scored at 0.5 cm and 14.4 cm to create pocket on front of card.

The card itself is pretty easy to make. Check it out for yourself on my video.

Double-sided paper features very heavily in my projects and kits because it is so versatile. Depending on the paper you can

  1. Stamp on it.
  2. Fussy cut images and some papers even have coordinating dies to make your crafting easier.
  3. Use the paper alone or multiple different pieces.
  4. Create scenes and 3D cards.
  5. Emboss it to add even more interest and texture.

Check out these cards – one was from a recent class and the other from a team activity.

The card above features paper from the Bloom Where You’re Planted pack and involved a fair amount of fussy cutting. Personally I think it was worth it. How about you?

For the card below, I used the Beauty of the Earth pack to create the sky and land.

Global Stampers October Blog Hop - Exciting News to Share

Welcome to October’s Blog Hop. You have either started here, hopped forward from Ann’s fabulous project featuring the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper (at least that was the original plan) or back from Robbie who has featured the cute Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper.

If you are just starting here then you probably haven’t seen the news (unless you subscribe to my newsletter) about October’s Stampin’ Up! specials. More information about these can be found at the bottom of this post.

This month we decided to go with a theme, for Men, and to try to include something metallic in our projects. In addition to this, each of us also picked one of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs in this month’s sale to feature too.  I opted to go with the Coffee Break DSP  and these are the projects that I’ve designed.

This box is really cute and can be used as packaging for small gifts or even cards. I used the same basic instructions as a previous box and the cutting/scoring information for the paper can be found in my tutorials.
Men do on occasions send a card (at least my hubby does) and they too have a need for Thank You cards. With this in mind, I made a few cards that I’m sure any man would like to receive or even give.

Here’s a couple of the cards in more detail.

I’ve fallen in love with this paper. There is something for everyone one because one side of each sheet has a coffee theme but the other side has contemporary patterns that use the colours Early Espresso, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky and Soft Suede.

The co-ordinating stamp set is really cute too. Guess what, it’s in the World Card Making Day Essentials Sale. I guess I’d better let you in on this month’s promotions.

  • It’s World Card Making Day on 7 October, and to celebrate this Stampin’ Up! are offering 15% off a selection of products. You can find the details by clicking on the photo below
  • As if things couldn’t get better, there is also a  Designer Series Paper Sale running for the whole of the month.
Don’t forget there is also the Merry Patterns Hostess Offer from last month because it’s an offer available over last month and this.
I’ve tried to keep things short and brief, but wow, that’s a lot to take in. Don’t forget to hop over to Robbie’s blog and check out her project and then you can continue your hop around.
You can hop to Robbie’s blog by clicking on the following.
If you would like to hop in reverse or simply go back to Ann’s blog you can click on the following.
A complete list of those taking part is as follows:

Alicia
Ann

Robbie
Valérie

If you don’t get a chance to hop around us all in one day, bookmark this page and then you can click on any of the above and pop over there.
