Curtain Call Fun Card for an Acorns Craft & Chat

I’m always looking for fun card ideas to share with the Acorns. And, during a recent internet search I came across a card designed by Susan Campfield. But, there were a couple of small issues – (i) it was a horizontal card and (ii) the starting size was based on US Letter size card stock. Here in the UK we use A4 size, which is longer and narrower than letter size.

It took me a little while to figure things out but this is what I came up. The fun fold card features the Zoo Crew 12″ x 12″ paper and the Zany Zoo stamp set. Both of these are part of the Zoo Crew Collection.

The card folds flat and fits neatly into a standard C6 envelope.

OnStage At Home Event - lots of new and exciting things

This past weekend I took part in this year’s OnStage At Home Event. Sadly, the annual OnStage event was virtual again this year but we are all looking forward to attending the planned in person event next year.

One of the highlights of the event is seeing presentations from both Stampin’ Up! employees and also demonstrators from around the Stampin’ Up! world. This year there were lots of to see and we also were able to take part in a Stamping Experience. This was a good excuse to those attendees from my team over to stamp together. Sadly I was too busy watching the event to take photos of us stamping.

I have however taken photos of the cards made as part of the stamping experience.

The cards from this year’s OnStage At Home event feature the Blessings of Home Bundle (Blessings of Home stamp set and Flowers of Home Dies) together with the Heart & Home double-sided paper. Both of these will be available from 4 January 2022.

I did actually cut two each of the “kits” for the cards and made some alternatives. Can you spot the differences?

At in person events, there is normally a swag bag containing a stamp set and other goodies. The virtual events are slightly different and there is an option to purchase the swag bag. I did opt to purchase the swag bag and I promise to share details very soon.

FYI, OnStage events are open to all demonstrators. It does not matter if you joined to start a business or to simply enjoy the perks (discount etc). There is lots for everyone to see and of course those who do attend get to see new things a few days before non attendees. There are other perks such as being able to pre-order items weeks before non attendees. My order has arrived so I’ll be sharing pictures of the items and projects soon.

A bit of spring cleaning going on - Year End Closeout

Today I've been busy cleaning and tidying my craft studio, the aim being to make way for some of the new Spring/Summer products that I was able to pre-order this afternoon. As part of the tidy up, a large number of cards have been boxed up for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and what's more, I've finished all my preparation for Saturday's party. Yippee.

Stampin' Up! are also doing a bit of end of year cleaning and starting today have some great deals on offer. It's that time of year again

With details of next year's classes now up on the Events & Classes page, I thought it best to crack on and get my new diary decorated. Spaces are already filling and I need to record who is coming when.

For the last past two years I have bought myself a cheap (£1.00) page a day diary from a well know discount store (I think the price gives it away as to the name), this year is no different. The big dilemma was what Designer Series Paper to use to decorate it.

After looking through my supplies I decided to use one sheet of the fabulous Gold Soiree Speciality Designer Series Paper.  The photo does not do it justice as the old spots are in fact Metallic Gold Ink.

The numbers were stamped in Calypso Coral using the Memorable Moments stamp set.  I like to give handmade gifts for Christmas and I have a number of other diaries to now cover and give to people.

I'm going Crackers (Christmas Crackers that is)

Yippee, another fantastic product from Stampin' Up! is coming to craft rooms near you. Or even to your craft room now that they are available to purchase.

The Envelope Punch Board is available from today. Gone are the boring white envelopes and in are the fabulous coloured ones that you can make in any size (measurements for 66 are provided) with the aid of this great tool.

The Envelope Punch Board comes with two built in punches and it's own scoring tool, plus two sets of measurements for 66 different sized cards.The ones printed on the board are in inches and there is a separate sheet, that you can stick on, that gives you the measurements in cms.



But wait, not only can you make envelopes and their liners with the board but a multitude of other things too. I have been using mine to make Christmas Crackers. So far I have made 10, and here are 4 of them.

These crackers hold boxes (more like rectangular tubes) of Maltesers and Minstrels that I bought from the local supermarket for £1.00 each.  I've decorated the crackers with a number of different things. See details below.

You may have noticed that two of the crackers have the same tag but in different colours. I made them using My Digital Studio (MDS) using a template set called To You From Me. It is one the the MDS Seasonal Downloads that are on sale as part of the 30% Off Seasonal MDS Sets Sale.

Here are the tags again (plus a couple of others) before I matted them onto glimmer paper etc.

I love how it is possible to play with the "stamp" known as "stamp brushes" in MDS and change the colour of the images or the background etc. It's also possible to change sizes and all sorts of other things that I've not even figured out yet. Like giving the black tags a chalkboard effect.
