Simple Stamping Sale-A-Bration Style

I love simple stamping so decided to make a board for a recent show which I’ve called Simple Stamping Sale-A-Bration Style. I took  three of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets and designed three levels of card with each of the stamp sets.

simple stamping sale-a-bration style

The three stamp sets are The Gang’s All Meer, Happy Birthday To You and Thoughtful Blooms. Each of these stamp sets are available for free with a £45 spend (excluding P&P).

  • Cards on the left are simple single layer cards that use, stamps, ink and notecards. A couple have been coloured using Water Colour Pencils (no water involved though).
  • The middle column involves a technique such as masking, fussy cutting or punching.
  • Cards on the right involve a few more techniques and products such as dies and  embossing folders.

Here are the cards from the left-hand column in more detail

Banded Together Bundle with Simple Stamping and More

Today I have both a simple stamping card (no. 26) and a stepped up card too. Both made using the Banded Together Bundle.

The simple stamping note card involves a spot of colouring using watercolor pencils. The pencils were used as colouring pencils – no water involved.  The main image comes from the Band Together stamp set.

Banded Together

The colours used are Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Old Olive.

Banded Together

This stepped up card involved colouring with Stampin’ Blends (dark So Saffron, dark Calypso Coral and dark Old Olive), die cutting and layering. Not everything was coloured. The leaves were stamped onto Old Olive card stock and then die cut. A bit of a cheat but a great time saver.

To make the centre flower stand out a little, it has been popped up on dimensionals (foam pads).

If you would like to make the Banded Together cards and need the supplies, click on the pictures below to visit my Online store.

Friend Like You - Stepped Up Sunday

The weekend is nearly over, but on a happier note it’s time for the stepped up Sunday versions of the Friend Like You cards.

Punches are a great way to add some dimension and are versatile and relatively cheap to purchase. Two different punches have been used on these stepped up cards. Hope you like them.

Friend Like You

For the first card –

  • Stamp sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White card instead of the double sided paper. Then,
  • Punch out the sentiment using a 1-3/4″ Circle Punch.
  • The Seaside Spray paper (other side to the piece used yesterday) is  punched using the Starburst Punch.

The second card has been changed a little bit more.

Friend Like You

Instructions for this second Friend Like You card as as follows

  • Card base is a Whisper White note card.
  • Cut a 5.0 x 10.0 cm piece of Seaside Spray double sided paper and glue it to the front of the card.
  • Cut a 6.0 x 6.0 cm piece of Seaside Spray paper (same type as the first).
  • Stamp image using Soft Suede and Granny Apple Green ink onto a piece of Seaside Spray cardstock. Punch out using the Starburst punch.
  • Glue the circle of paper to the reverse of the stamped image. Make sure that it’s the opposite side to the already glued paper that is showing.
  • Stamp sentiment in Seaside Spray ink onto a 2.0 x 6.5 cm piece of Whisper White cardstock.
  • Adhere the square of double sided paper and the Whisper White sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals (foam pads).

Hope you have enjoyed seeing these cards. I’ll be sharing more over the coming week.

Hoot Hoot Hooray - Stepped Up Sunday

Today I’m sharing a stepped up version of the ever so cute Hoot Hoot Hooray card that I posted yesterday. I’m keeping things simple still – even more stepped up versions will be shared later this week.

Want to be reminded of the card I shared yesterday? Then check it out here. Although yesterday’s card is designed with beginners in mind, it is very easy to step it up a notch or two.

Hoot Hoot Hooray - stepped up Sunday

For this stepped up version I simply coloured the image using some Stampin’ Blends. Depending on the size of the image you could use other colouring medium such as markers, ink and blender pens/aqua painters.

Instructions for the Hoot Hoot Hooray card

  1. Make base card from a 14.9 x 21.0 cm piece of Seaside Spray cardstock by scoring and folding in half at 10.5 cm.
  2. Stamp image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a 6.5 x 10.5 cm piece of Seaside Spray double sided paper.
  3. Colour image using chosen medium. I used Stampin’ Blends in the following colours
    1. Light and Dark Crumb Cake
    2. Light and Dark Smoky Slate
    3. Dark Night of Navy
    4. Color Lifter
  4. Glue the Seaside Spray paper to a 7.0 x 11.0 cm piece of Whisper White cardstock and then wrap a length of White Baker’s Twine around the top and tie in a bow at the front.
  5. Adhere the panel to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Use a 10.0 x 14.9 cm piece of Whisper White cardstock for the inside. I added a 1.0 cm wide strip of Seaside Spray down the edge.

Hoot Hoot Hooray inside

Hope you have enjoyed seeing this stepped up Hoot Hoot Hooray card. I have a few to share over the coming week so check back on a regular basis.

Need this stamp set? Purchase from my Online Store by clicking on the images below. Don’t forget there is free shipping this month on all orders of £25 or more (excluding P&P) because it’s my birthday month. This means that the £4.95 will be refunded to you via PayPal or Bank Transfer – which ever method you prefer.

Happy stamping.

Over the Moon Stepped Up Sunday

Just incase you haven’t worked it out, I love the Over the Moon stamp set. Yesterday I shared some Simple Stamping cards made using the stamp set. And, today it’s the turn of the Over the Moon Stepped Up cards.

Here are the two stepped up versions that I made.

over the moon stepped up cards

To make these stepped up versions –

  1. Colour the images using Stampin’ Blends. I used Daffodil Delight, Gray Granite, Old Olive, Purple Posy and Soft Suede.
  2. Fussy cut the images out. Sorry there are no coordinating dies.
  3. Cut out the stamped sentiments using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, or your trimmer and paper snips.
  4. Adhere the images to the card fronts using Stampin’ Dimensionals (foam pads).
  5. Decorate inside of cards and the envelopes. TIP – if using Stampin’ Blends on an envelope be sure to place some scrap paper inside to stop the colours bleeding through.

Celebrate with Cake - Stepped Up Sunday

The Celebrate with Cake stamp set is a great stamp set for new stampers (see yesterday’s blog post) and you will find it in the Experience Creativity Brochure.  It is also one of the stamp sets that I featured in my projects for a recent training day. I thought I’d share the cards with you today, so that you can see that by tweaking a few things, stepped up versions can be easily made.

Celebrate with Cake stepped up simple stamping

The new scallop notecards are really cute and make a great alternative to the Whisper White notecards.  The scallop cards (and envelopes) come in a pack of 20. There are  5 each of 4 different colours – Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Light Pink and Terracotta Tile.

For the stepped up versions I paired the notecards with the Garden Lane double sided paper. I only used small pieces of it to draw attention to the stamped images.

The instructions for the Terracotta Tile Celebrate with Cake card above are very simple

  • Whisper White card stock– 6.5 x 6.5 cm
    • Stamp three balloons. One each in Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron and Terracotta Tile. Remember to clean the stamp in between stamping each image.
    • Stamp sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black.
  • Double sided paper – 3.0 x 12.6 cm
    • Glue the paper to the inside front edge of the card- behind the scallops. This is help the card to stand up. You may need to trim the paper once it has been glued to the card.
  • Double sided paper – 2.0 x 10.0 cm
    • Cut the paper in half to make two pieces of 2.0 x 5.0 cm
    • Adhere the paper to the reverse side of the stamped piece of Whisper White.
  • Make up card using dimensionals.
  • Stamp the inside of the card card and envelope as desired.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing these cards. Shop my Online Store for the products you need to make the cards by clicking on the relevant picture below.

Dragonfly Dreams Stepped Up Simple Stamping

Time to share the Dragonfly Dreams Stepped Up Simple Stamping cards. I’ve used the exact same stamps as last Saturday’s simple stamping cards. Just to show just how easy it is to step things up a little or a lot.

This first card was quick and easy to make

  • Switch out the notecard out for a Bermuda Bay card base. Using different coloured layers gives the card a totally different look.
  • Stamp the spots on the Whisper White panel in the same way as the simple stamping card.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock and adding it to the card front using foam pads will give it some added dimension.
  • Adding rhinestones adds a little sparkle without going over the top.

Dragonfly Dreams stepped up simple stamping

To make the second card

  • The bee image was stamped three times in a row and then coloured. I coloured them using a Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend.
  • Stamp the bee image a further three times onto some scrap Whisper White paper and then colour them too.
  • Use the die from the coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits die set to cut out the bees from the scrap paper. The die gives them lacy wings which are really sweet.
  • Glue the body of each die cut bee to the body of one of the stamped bees on the Whisper White panel.

I love the bumblebee image in this stamp set. I’ve had to rescue a fair few of them this year. The warm spring weather brought them all out but they didn’t do so well in the cold snap we experienced afterwards. My Mum  brought me a bee house for Christmas and I need to hang in a nice warm spot.

Dragonfly Dreams stepped up

The third card has more die cutting and stamping involved

  • Two Stitched Rectangles were die cut – one larger than the other. Larger one in Pool Party and the other in Bermuda Bay .
  • The sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink close to the bottom of the Bermuda Bay rectangle. This gives a tone on tone effect.
  • A dragonfly was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Use Bermuda Bay for the outline and Pool Party for the infill on the wings. Then use the outline die to cut the dragonfly out.
  • Stamp the dragonfly outline again, this time in Pool Party onto Pool Party cardstock. Die cut the image using the detailed die. This gives the lacy wings.
  • Glue the body of Pool Party Dragonfly onto the stamped image. Gluing just the body will leave the wings free and you can move them to give the effect you want.
  • Make up the card using foam pads and glue.

Country Home Stepped Up Simple Stamping Saturdays

A quick post today to share my stepped up versions of the Country Home Stepped Up Simple Saturdays.

The point of of these stepped up versions is to share details of other cards made with the actual stamps used on the Simple Stamping version. Some involve techniques others additional items such as punches, double sided paper and or dies.

Country Home Stepped Up Version 1

A stepped up version using paper snips and a punch.

Country Home Stepped Up version 1

To make the medallion on the card

  • Stamp four individual tiles  in Berry Burst ink and cut out by hand.
  • Then stamp four Fresh Fig tiles in a large square. The centre circle formed by the four tiles is then punched out using a 3/4″ Circle Punch.
  • Fix the four individual tiles to a 2′” x 2″ square of Berry Burst using foam pads and then fix the Fresh Fig circle to the centre using another foam pad.
  • Fix the Berry Burst square to a Fresh Fig square 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ that has been glued to the Whisper White panel on the card front.

Stepped Up Version 2

A stepped up version using paper snips, laser cut paper and dies.

Country Home Stepped Up version 2

To make the medallion on this card

  • Stamp five individual tiles, one each in Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig and then cut out using paper snips.
  • Die cut a stitched rectangle from a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock. Then re cut the rectangle moving the long of the die to create a thinner rectangle.
  • Fix the five individual tiles to the Tranquil Tide rectangle using foam pads.
  • Die cut a larger stitched rectangle from a piece of Fresh Fig cardstock. Then re cut the rectangle moving the long of the die to create a thinner rectangle that the Tranquil Tide rectangle will fit into.
  • Fix the Tranquil Tide rectangle to the Fresh Fig rectangle and then fix the whole thing to the card front that a piece of Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper has already been fixed to.

Hopefully you can follow these instructions but if you have any questions send them to me via email.

Version 2

Animal Outing - Stepped Up Simple Stamping Saturdays

Animal Outing is such a cute stamp set that I just had to share the stepped up versions I made.

This first card involves

  • Stampin’ Write Markers, which were used to colour the bird and the grass, and
  •  1″ Circle and 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punches for punching out the sentiment.
  • Two inks – Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Granny Apple Green ink.

Animal Outing stepped up simple stamping saturdays

Instead of using a notecard I made my own card base from a 14.9 x 29.7 cm piece Pacific Point cardstock. The welcome sentiment was stamped in Pacific Point ink to give a tone on tone look.

For the second card the base card was made from a 14.9 x 29.7 cm piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock. Instead of Stampin’ Write Markers I used Stampin’ Blends.

Animal Outing Stepped Up Simple Stamping Saturdays

Instructions on how to make the second card

  • Glue 10.0 x 14.4 cm Whisper White panel to the card front and then glue a 7.0 x 7.0 cm piece of Granny Apple Green to the centre of the Whisper White panel.
  • Stamp the images and sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a 9.0 x 12.0 cm piece of Whisper White.
  • Cut a rectangle around the image and sentiment using a Rectangle Stitched Framelits.
  • Die cut around the elephant image using the coordinating die from the Animal Outing Framelits Dies.
  • Colour in the images using Stampin’ Blends.
  • Die cut a frame from Granny Apple Green cardstock using two concentric Rectangle Stitched Framelits (the smaller of the two being the one used for the rectangle around the images).
  • Fix the Granny Apple Green Stitched Rectangle to the Whisper White Stitched Rectangle with the sentiment on it. I used strips of card behind to hold the edges together.
  • Adhere the rectangle to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals ensuring that the elephant outline is over the Granny Apple Green panel.
  • Pop the elephant image through the gap and adhere to the panel underneath. Remember to add the small piece that’s die cut out between the bird and the elephant (unless you want the Granny Apple Green to show through).
  • Finish card by adding some rhinestones and stamping the inside panel of Whisper White (10.0 x 14.4 cm).

Here’s a closer look at the elephant and bird.

That’s it for now. I’ll be back with another Simple Stamping Saturdays card soon.

Dandelion Wishes - Stepped Up Simple Stamping Saturdays

Did you see my last Simple Stamping Saturdays card using the Dandelion Wishes stamp set? If not, you can check it out here. Today however I am sharing my stepped up Dandelion Wishes cards.

Dandelion Wishes stepped up version

This first card has a Thick Whisper White base and both Basic Black and Daffodil Delight panels. To make the card

  • Stamp the dandelions in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink over the 6.5 x 14.9 cm Daffodil Delight cardstock panel.
  • Then also stamp the dandelions onto a scrap piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock.
  • Place the Daffodil Delight panel onto the card front and then stamp the seed heads onto the panel and also the card front.
  • Using a 2-1/4″ Circle Punch punch out a large circle of dandelions from the scrap piece of stamped Daffodil Delight cardstock.
  • Stamp sentiment onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and then punch out using a 1-3/4″ Circle Punch.
  • Glue the 8.0 x 14.9 cm piece of Basic Black cardstock to the card front.
  • Adhere the Daffodil Delight panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Be sure to line up the stamped seed heads.
  • Fix the stamped Daffodil Delight circle to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals making sure that it is lined up with the images on the Daffodil Delight panel.
  • Fix the sentiment to the Daffodil Delight circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • To finish, add some clear Rhinestones to the centre of the dandelion heads.

This second card is a little more complicated and involves using alternate sized Stitched Rectangle Framelits for the die cutting both the Highland Heather cardstock and the stamped Whisper White cardstock. The dandelion images were stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink to give a contrast against the Highland Heather cardstock.

Piece of Cake - Stepped Up from Simple Stamping

Following on from Saturday’s post, today I’m sharing my Piece of Cake stepped up cards. I’m sticking to the wedding theme for these too.

The first card is a stamped on the one layer and then coloured using Stampin’ Blends.

To make this card –

  • Thick Whisper White base card – A5 (21.0 x 14.9 cm) score and folded in half at 10.5 cm
  • Petal Pink panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
  • Smoky Slate panel – 9.5 x 13.9 cm
  • Whisper White panel for stamping – 9.0 x 13.4 cm
    • Stamp images and sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – starting with the cake stand
    • Colour in images using Stampin’ Blends
    • Apply Clear Wink of Stella to flowers and heart.

The second card is for a more experienced card maker. There’s both die cutting and fussy cutting involved. The cake etc was fussy cut. There is a punch that cuts out both the cake and the cake stand but the bundle has been so popular that the punch is currently out of stock.
