Last Day - Snowflake Showcase

Today is the last day that you can order items from the Snowflake Showcase. This is really sad because I’ve been having lots and lots of fun with the Happiness Surrounds stamp set. Did you know that this stamp set along with the Snowfall Thinlits is great for all-year round projects? Like the saying goes, it’s not just for Christmas!

Here’s a peek at some of the cards made at the recent Happiness Surrounds One Day Retreat.

Last day to order and you can get the instructions for these too

If you purchase one of the stamp sets or the dies from my Online Shop today, I’ll send you a link to the PDF of the instructions for these cards (metric measurements only). You will also receive instructions for two additional cards. That’s instructions for 7 cards, one of which is a Christmas card. The link to the PDF instructions will be sent within 24 hours to the email address associated with the order.

Do you already have the stamp set and or the dies? If so, you can purchase the instructions for the 7 cards. The cost is £15.00 and payment should be made via the Paypal link below. A link to the PDF for the instructions will be sent within 24 hours to the email address associated with the PayPal payment.

Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to sharing the card instructions with you.

Happy stamping.

6th Birthday Challenge - CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #300

It’s the fourth Tuesday of the month and this week Patricia has a sketch challenge for us. This is also the 6th Birthday Challenge and we are celebrating with the 300th challenge.

For the challenge, you can use any shape that you like – you just need to use 6 of the same shape.

Seeing as there are only 4 weeks to go, I decided to keep with a Christmas theme for my card. I used the Snowfall Thinlits from the Snowflake Showcase and kept the colours to shades of blue.

6th Birthday Challenge - CC&S Challenge 300 use any shape

I used a snowflake to decorate the inside of the card.

Here are my instructions for the 6th Birthday Challenge card

Cutting instructions

  • Night of Navy cardstock – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm to create the base card.
  • Night of Navy cardstock – scraps for die cutting the 6 circles.
  • Balmy Blue cardstock – 9.5  x 13.9 cm
  • Balmy Blue cardstock – scraps for die cutting the 6 snowflakes
  • Whisper White cardstock – 9.0 x 13.4 cm (card front), 10.0 x 14.4 cm (for the inside)
  • Whisper White cardstock – 2.0 x 9.5 cm for sentiment.

Stamping and construction instructions

  1. Glue the 9.0 x 13.4 cm piece of Whisper White to the 9.5 x 13.9 cm piece of Balmy Blue.
  2. Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy onto the 2.0 x 9.5 cm piece of Whisper White (close to the left-hand end) and then cut a V in the opposite end to create a banner.
  3. Using three different sized snowflake dies from the Snowfall Thinlits, die cut the six snowflakes for the front of the card and a seventh for the inside from some scrap Balmy Blue cardstock.
  4. Using the Layering Circle Framelit Dies, cut six circles from scrap Night of Navy cardstock. The circles should be slightly larger than the snowflake.
  5. Glue the snowflakes onto the appropriate circle and then fix the circle to the card front using a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  6. Adhere the banner sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. Add rhinestones to the centre of each snowflake and also to the banner.
  8. Adhere the Whisper White/Balmy Blue piece to the Night of Navy card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  9. Using the same snowflake die used to cut the seventh snowflake cut one into the bottom right corner of the 10.0 x 14.4 cm piece of Whisper White. Then glue the piece of Whisper White into the inside of the card and glue the seventh Balmy Blue snowflake into the hole.

I hope that my card  has given you some ideas and inspired you to give the challenge a go. You will find the link to add your card along with pictures of all the other design team members cards over on the CC&S blog. Deadline for adding the link to your card is 11.00 pm (UK time) on Monday, 3 December.

Happy stamping.

Merry Christmas To All - One Stamp Set, One Kit, Three Cards

It’s been a little while since I shared my Card & A Cuppa kit and cards. For those of you who haven’t seen previous posts, I call them my One Stamp Set, One Kit, Three Cards. Yesterday we used the Merry Christmas To All stamp set at the penultimate event of 2018 – the last one for the year is on 5 December.

Each Merry Christmas To All kit contained –

  • Whisper White envelope
  • Garden Green cardbase – 14.9 x 21.0 cm, scored and folded in half at 10.5 cm.
  • Cherry Cobbler layer – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
  • Whisper White layer  – 9.5 x 13.9 cm
  • Designer Series Paper – 5.0 x 11.0 cm
  • Cherry Cobbler Merry – die cut using the
  • Whisper White for stamping – 3.0 x 8.0 cm
  • Whisper White panel for inside – 10.0 x 14.4 cm

Here are the three samples that I took to the event.

Merry Christmas to All

The first and second cards are basically the same – one being portrait and the other landscape. The other difference is that on the card above the Merry has been adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the Christmas is glued on. On the card below I have done the reverse. The Merry is glued on and the Christmas is adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Merry Christmas to All - One Stamp, One Kit, Three Cards

The third card (below) uses a different Christmas sentiment stamp (from the same set). This time though, I stamped it in Garden Green ink and then roughly fussy cut around it.

Merry Christmas To All - One Kit, One Stamp, Three Cards

All the cards have some Red Rhinestones added to them for  added interest.

The last Card & A Cuppa for 2018 will be on 5 December. If you live local to me I would love to see you there.  If you can’t make that one then I’ll be back at the Holme Grange Chocolate Cafe on 16 January with the first Card & A Cuppa for 2019.

Happy Stamping.

Snowflake Sentiments - CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #299

This week Patricia has a colour challenge for us. The colours screamed Christmas to me so I decided to dust off the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set.

The stamp set can be found in the annual catalogue and here’s the card that I made with it.

Snowflake sentiments for CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #299

I wanted to tie in the Cherry Cobbler base card to the card front but without stamping in that colour. I figured that Cherry Cobbler snowflakes would look just a little too weird. As a result, I used a strip of Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White paper with a snowflake design to bring the colour in.

Here are my instructions for the Snowflake Sentiments card

Cutting instructions

  • Cherry Cobbler cardstock – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm to create the base card.
  • Tranquil Tide cardstock – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
  • Whisper White cardstock – 9.5 x 13.9 cm (card front), 10.0 x 14.4 cm (for the inside)
  • Whisper White cardstock – 6.0 x 14.9 cm for stamping and die cutting the three snowflakes
  • Dashing Along Designer Series Paper – 3.0 x 13.9 cm

Stamping and construction instructions

  1. Glue the paper to the 9.5 x 13.9 cm piece of Whisper White leaving a 0.5 cm Whisper White gap along one edge.
  2. Stamp flowers the snowflakes in Mint Macaron onto the 6.0 x 14.9 cm piece of Whisper White and then die cut out using circles from the Stitched Shape and Layering Circles Thinlits.
  3. Stamp sentiment in Tranquil Tide onto the 9.5 x 13.9 cm Whisper White card front.
  4. Adhere the Whisper White card front to the 10.0 x 14.4 cm piece of Tranquil Tide and then fix the whole thing to the Cherry Cobbler card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  5. Fix the snowflake circles to the strip of paper using Stampin’ Dimensionals and then add a rhinestone to the centre of each one.
  6. Stamp a snowflake onto the 10.0 x 14.4 cm panel of Whisper White to match the front and then glue into the inside of the card.

I hope that my card  has given you some ideas and inspired you to give the challenge a go. You will find the link to add your card along with pictures of all the other design team members cards over on the CC&S blog. Deadline for adding the link to your card is 11.00 pm (UK time) on Monday, 26 November.

Happy stamping.

With all the excitement of OnStage and the upcoming Spring/Summer Catalogue it’s easy to forget products in the current catalogues. However, it seems that a lot of you have not forgotten the Autumn/Winter Catalogue, because items are selling out faster then predicted.

Stampin’ Up! have provided us with a list of items in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue that are at risk of running out before the end of the catalogue period (2 January 2019).

The items that may run out are (correct at time of posting) –

The Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper has already run out and is no longer available.

Those marked with an * will carry over into 2019 Spring/Summer catalogue sales period. These items will go on backorder once current supplies run out. Please note that it is not likely that new supplies will be available until the New Year.

Everything else will only be available while stock last and will not be order-able at a later date.

Big news from OnStage - Cling Stamps and must have bags & totes

There were three pieces of exciting big news that we heard at Onstage. And, because the spoiler alert for this OnStage has been lifted so I can share everything with you now.

Cling Stamps

Starting with the 2019 Spring/Summer Catalogue, all future catalogues will only feature Cling and Photopolymer stamps.  No more new wood mount stamp sets. We have been asking for cling stamps for ages and Stampin’ Up! have listened to us and delivered. YAY.

big news from onstage

Cling stamps will still feature the same high quality red rubber that we are used to, but will in future come with highly adhesive labels. This means you don’t need to worry that the stamp will move around on your clear block or even fall off.

I received a couple of cling stamp sets at OnStage and will be sharing how to mount and care for them in a Facebook live on Monday, 19 November at 10.00 am. The event will be recorded and available on the Facebook Page if you are not able to watch live.

Craft & Carry Stamparatus Bag

The Craft & Carry Stamparatus Bag will be available from 5 December. This is a great way to keep your Stamparatus and accessories in one place and is handy if you are going to classes or to a friend’s house to craft.

I have pre-ordered a bag and will be sharing more details about it as soon as I am able.

Last but not least, Stampin’ Up! also gave us information about Sale-A-Bration and an exclusive tote that will be available as part of one of the joining options.

Craft & Carry Tote

The great news is that you can get the tote now as part of your starter kit (subject to availability) if you join before Sale-A-Bration starts (3 Jan 2019).

Once Sale-a-Bration starts you will only be able to obtain it as part of the Option 2 joining offer.

As you can see, there are lots of exciting things happening. I can’t wait to share the big news from OnStage in more detail with you.

Happy stamping.

First Orlando Make N Take - Classic Garage Suite, 2019 Spring/Summer

Make N Takes are one of the highlights of OnStage events. In Orlando we had four to enjoy making, together with a Take N Make. The aim of the Take N Make being to complete it at home. Today I am sharing the first Orlando Make N Take.

Each Make N Take comes in it’s own package and the stamps, ink etc are usually in the plastic tote on the table.

Orlando Make N Takes

For the first Orlando Make n Take we got to use the Geared Up Garage stamp set and the Garage Gears Thinlits. Please note that they will be available from 3 January, either individually or as a bundle.

The Make N Take was infact a box which we got to decorate.

Orlando Make N Take using the Classic Garage Suite

Basic Instructions for the Make N Take

  • We stamped the sentiment and then die cut it out.
  • The cogs/gears were then die cut out of the Tranquil Tide paper.
  • A strip of Crushed Curry cardstock was glued to the square of the Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Paper.
  • Then the die cut cog was glued to the paper.
  • Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic Ribbon was wrapped around the paper before the whole thing was glue to the lid of the box.
  • To finish off, the stamped and die cut sentiment were then attached to the box using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here’s a picture of the board showing the whole suite. The little spanner and key embellishments are really cute.

As an Onstage attendee I get to take part in the Product Purchase Premier. This suite is one that has made it’s way into my order so you can expect to see more ideas in the weeks leading up to it’s release in January.

Happy stamping.

Acorns in Florida - OnStage Live (Days 4 to 5)

The Acorns in Florida have been having a blast. Admittedly there have been a few interesting moments such as getting on the freeway and travelling east bound instead of west. Sadly, today is our last day and tonight we fly back to the UK, but not before I share days 4 and 5 with you.

Day 4

Friday was our second full day at OnStage. The morning started with a prize patrol, and recognition. Of course there were stamping presentations and another prize patrol or two too.

We had two further Make N Takes to do during our lunch period. I only seem to have a photo of one of them so will add the fourth to my Facebook page sometime this week.

Acorns in Florida Make N Take 3

In the afternoon we had a few hours to ourselves but not enough time to go back to the villa and relax. A few of us decided to do some crafting and others went out into the heat and humidity to have a wander around.

After dinner at Olive Garden (a new experience for most) it was back to Main Stage for a fun evening. Sara and other Stampin’ Up! employees together with a few demonstrators had us in stitches with their presentations.

Dale had us in stitches with his Polar Bear in the Snow card – basically a blank card! This seems to have started a trend so if you see others on Pinterest such as a black card called frogs in the dark you will know where it came from.

Lisa Hardie used the Hopping Along stamp set in her presentation and had us rolling in the aisles. The stamp set will be available in January 2019 as one of the Sale-A-Bration options.

I’ll leave you to figure out why it caused such a commotion, but let’s just say that the red lips and the eye lashes finished us off!

Day 5

Saturday was a long day and started with recognition for various things.  We were separated for lunch with Centre Stage attendees going to another room.

Here I am talking to my friend Ann Lewis. She is one of the Global Stampers. I’m glad to say that we did manage to meet up with Robbie too.

The afternoon was spent recognising demonstrator anniversaries. It was inspiring to see demonstrators celebrating their 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th anniversaries. Did you know that there are 3 US demonstrators who are celebrating their 30th anniversaries along with Stampin’ Up! ? No mean feat.

Once OnStage was over we were treated to watch Shelli and Sara doing some stamping. Sara’s daughters also came on stage for a short while. This stamping business is a real family affair. Here’s a couple of the cards that they stamped and shared with us.

Let It Ride rainbow card

The rainbow behind the horse (from Let it Ride) was made using Shimmer Embossing Paste and re-inkers. I for one will be giving this technique a go over the next few weeks and I’ll share my efforts when I can.

The card above was made using the Florentine Filigree Bundle (stamp set and die). The Stamparatus was used to ensure the stamp placements lined up.

Both the Let It Ride and Florentine Filigree Bundle will be available from 3 January when the 2019 Spring/Summer Catalogue is released. More about that soon.

Happy Stamping.
