The 2020 Retirement Lists are here

It’s that time of the year again. The 2020 Retirement Lists are here and there are some real bargains to be had. You will find the lists here.

2020 Retirement Lists - Annual Catalogue

Click on the images to visit the appropriate retirement list. Please note, that the lists were correct at the time of writing. The updated lists will be found on the Retirement List page above.

A few things to tell you about the lists so that you don’t panic

  • Stampin’ Blends are not retiring. They are being reconfigured and from 3 June will only be available as combo packs. If you have been collecting the Stampin’ Blends individually then now is the time to get those still on your wish list.
  • Bundles never carry over into new Catalogues, individual items quite often do. Bundles save you 10% on the combined price so if you have one on your wish list you may want to think about getting it before the new catalogue is released on 3 June.
  • 2018-2020 In Colors are, as expected, retiring. This means anything relating to them – ink, re-inkers, cardstock and embellishments are also retiring.

You can shop the retirement list by clicking on the image below.

Some of my favourites kits are on the 2020 retirement lists at a reduced price (40% – 60% off). Purchase any of the kits that have been used for class projects, and I’ll  include the class tutorial for free. A link to the PDF of the tutorial will be emailed to you within 24 hrs of when I receive your order confirmation.

Kits make great gifts. They are also a great way to keep yourself occupied when you don’t have many craft supplies.

Butterfly Gala Challenge Card- CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #316

Today I’m sharing my Butterfly Gala challenge card because it’s Tuesday.  Being a Tuesday means it’s time for Wei’s latest challenge over on the CC&S blog. This is the sketch she has come up with.

Here’s my Butterfly Gala Challenge Card for the sketch.

Butterfly Gala Challenge Card

The base card is Thick Whisper White cardstock.  As you can see, the front is embossed. In this instance, I used the Country Floral embossing folder. I love the deep floral images that this embossing folder gives. You will be able to purchase the embossing folder come 4 June, because it will be returning in the 2019 Annual Catalogue.

Using coloured card stock as the base on which to stamp the butterflies is a quick method of making them. What’s more having a coordinating punch makes it even quicker because there’s no need to fussy cut the images.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my card. Don’t however forget to check out the cards made by the rest of the design team. You can find the cards together with the link to add your card over on the CC&S blog.

Happy stamping

Got to pick a pocket card - One kit, three cards

Lots of fun was had at last week’s Card & A Cuppa making something a little different – a Pocket Card.

Ladies at Card & A Cuppa having fun making the pocket cards

It all started with one kit made up of card stock, paper and ribbon.

Pocket card kit and the Vibrant Vases

A stamp set (plus optional one for the sentiment), a few Stampin’ Blends and lots of punches were then added to the mix.

These are the three samples that I made.

Examples of pocket cards using Vibrant Vases stamp set

Here’s a closer look at the pocket card on the right. Just so you know, the pocket is not sealed along the sides. Instead, a piece of ribbon wrapped around and fixed under the medallion holds the pocket shut.

Full details of how to make this card can be found in the Tutorials. You can also find my supply list below so that you can shop for the items that you need.

Vibrant Vases - Stepped Up Simple Stamping Saturdays

It’s time to share the stepped up versions of the Vibrant Vases card shared last Saturday. I have two cards to show you.

Vibrant Vases – Stepped Up Version 1

For this first version I’ve used a punch and also added some double sided paper and a doily.

Vibrant Vases stepped up version 1

To make the card

  • Thick Whisper White cardstock – 10.5 x 29.7 cm scored and folded in half at 14.9 cm
  • Bermuda Bay panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm adhered to card front using foam pads (Stampin’ Dimensionals).
  • Whisper White panel – 9.5 x 13.9 cm with a strip  of spotted Bermuda Bay double sided paper measuring 4.0 x 13.9 cm glued down the centre.
  • A Coloured Doily – sponged on the reverse side with Poppy Parade ink. Then glued to the centre of the Bermuda Bay strip of double sided paper.
  • On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock stamp the vase in Bermuda Bay and then the flowers in Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green. The image is then punched out using the 2-1/4″ Circle Punch. Then, add to the doily using foam pads (Stampin’ Dimensionals).
  • Lastly a few rhinestones were added.

Vibrant Vases Stepped Up Version 2

This second card is a little more complicated to make because it involves some die cutting.

Vibrant vases stepped up version 2

The frames are made using three concentric Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies.  The largest and smallest were used to make the thicker frame in the background and the two smallest the thinner frame.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing these cards. You can shop for the supplies by clicking on the images below. Don’t forget to place the order before 31 March (by 10.50 pm) to ensure you are able to order an item from Sale-A-Bration for each £45 spent.

Happy stamping.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.10 - Vibrant Vases

I’ve gone to town (not really) this week for my Simple Stamping Saturdays No.10 card by adding colour. When stamping two of the vases from the Vibrant Vases stamp set I used Bermuda Bay and Poppy Parade ink.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.10 Vibrant Vases

The notecard is simple to make because the Vibrant Vases stamp set is a clear photopolymer one. This makes the layering of the stamped images very easy. The basic instructions for the notecard are as follows:

  • Stamp shelf in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the front of the notecard.
  • Then, stamp the outline images of the two vases in Bermuda Bay and Poppy Parade.
  • Thirdly, stamp the solid images of the two vases in the same colour but stamp off onto scrap paper first. This will ensure that the colour is a lighter shade. This is a technique known as Stamping Off.
  • Lastly, stamp the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black under the shelf image.

I also stamped an image on the inside of the notecard, just to finish it off. More often or not I will also stamp the same image on the envelope too.

The Vibrant Vases stamp set can be found on page 23 of the Spring/Summer Catalogue. This simple stamping project will also work with the Varied Vases stamp set found on page 45 of the Annual Catalogue.

Don’t forget, Simple Stamping is a great way to get into the craft of stamping. There is no need to invest in a huge amount of supplies to start. And, of course things such as the stamp set, ink, and clear blocks can be used time and time again.

My supply list for the notecard is below. Simply click on the images to be taken to my Online Store and add the items you want to your basket. Orders over £45 (excl. P&P) placed on or before 31 March will qualify for a free item (see details below).

Piece of Cake - Stepped Up from Simple Stamping

Following on from Saturday’s post, today I’m sharing my Piece of Cake stepped up cards. I’m sticking to the wedding theme for these too.

The first card is a stamped on the one layer and then coloured using Stampin’ Blends.

Piece of Cake stepped up simple stamping

To make this card –

  • Thick Whisper White base card – A5 (21.0 x 14.9 cm) score and folded in half at 10.5 cm
  • Petal Pink panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
  • Smoky Slate panel – 9.5 x 13.9 cm
  • Whisper White panel for stamping – 9.0 x 13.4 cm
    • Stamp images and sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – starting with the cake stand
    • Colour in images using Stampin’ Blends
    • Apply Clear Wink of Stella to flowers and heart.

The second card is for a more experienced card maker. There’s both die cutting and fussy cutting involved. The cake etc was fussy cut. There is a punch that cuts out both the cake and the cake stand but the bundle has been so popular that the punch is currently out of stock.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.7 - Piece of Cake

Spring sprung early this week here in the UK but has now returned to it’s cool and wet seasonal norm. The lovely warm weather reminded me that wedding season will soon be upon us. So, this week my Simple Stamping Saturdays No.7 project is a cute little wedding card.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.7 - Piece of Cake

Starting with a Whisper White Note Card the images from the Piece of Cake stamp set were stamped as follows:

  • Cake Stand was stamped first in Smoky Slate ink.
  • The cake was stamped next in Petal Pink ink.
  • Thirdly, the small heart was stamped in Petal Pink ink.
  • Lastly, the sentiment was stamped in Smoky Slate ink.

To finish the card a piece of Petal Pink/Whisper White 5/8″ Variegated Ribbon was wrapped around the card front and tied in a bow.

Hope you like this week’s Simple Stamping Saturdays No.7 card and don’t forget to check back later in the week for the stepped up versions. In the meantime, if you want to purchase any of the supplies I used, simply click on the appropriate image below to visit my Online Shop.

Meant To Be Valentine card- CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #308

It’s only two days until Valentines Day and this week Samantha has a Valentine themed sketch for us. My Meant To Be Valentine card is a mix up of a few things. Not something I normally do. I’ve used both the Meant to Be Bundle (Meant to Be stamp set and the Be Mine Framelits) and also the Well Written Framelits Dies.

The Meant to Be Bundle is great because it’s not just for Valentines but can be used to weddings, anniversaries, new baby and lots of other things. Combine it with the Well Written Framelits Dies and the list becomes endless.

I actually used two of the colours from last week’s challenge, simply because they were still on my table. They are great colours for a Valentines card though.

Meant to be Valentine for CAS #308

I started off by simply stamping the two smaller Lovely Lipstick hearts onto the card front. But, then I decided that the card looked a little flat. This was resolved by  re-stamping the hearts onto some scrap Whisper White, die cutting them out and then adding them to the card front using some Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can still make out the original stamped images underneath.

The inside of the card was finished off with one small stamped heart.

Meant to be Valentine for CAS 308

I hope that my Meant To Be Valentine card inspires you to give the challenge a go. You will find the link to add your card over on the  CC&S blog and you have until 11.00 pm (UK time) on 18 Feb to add your card.

In the meantime don’t forget to pop over to the challenge blog to see what other members of the design team have to share.

Happy stamping.

Florentine Filigree - Stepped Up from Simple Stamping

Today I’m sharing the stepped up versions of Saturday’s simple stamping card. I have an all day Florentine Filigree class later in the month so these cards will be on show as additional samples.

Florentine Filigree stepped up stamping

Basic info on how to make the first stepped up card

  • Use Lovely Lipstick card stock to make the card base.
  • Add a layer of Gray Granite.
  • Whisper White panel was stamped using both Lovely Lipstick and Gray Granite inks. Stamp the Gray Granite line  first and then the two Lovely Lipstick lines.
  • Apply Red Rhinestone to the centres of the Gray Granite images to highlight them.

The second card is stepped up even further.

Florentine Filigree stepped up card

Basic info on how to make the second stepped up card

  • Use Powder Pink card stock to make the card base.
  • Whisper White panel was stamped in the same colours as the first (above) with the exception of the sentiment.
  • Use a Stamparatus to ensure that everything lines up perfectly. It needs to be accurate so that it works with the frame die cut using the Florentine Thinlits Die.
  • Use the same die to cut out a piece of Lovely Lipstick and glue the popped out pieces to the panel.
  • Apply pearls instead of red rhinestones.

Hope you like these stepped up Florentine Filigree cards. You can purchase any of the supplies I used, by simply clicking on the appropriate images below to visit my Online Shop.

Just Because - CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #307

Wow, it’s February already. This month Samantha is hosting the challenges and this first one is a colour one. Seeing as it’s Valentines next week, I did think about going with that theme but then I spotted an unused stamp set on my shelf and thought I should give it some love. That’s why I’m using the just for hosts stamp set called Just Because.

Here’s my card

Just Because for CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #307

I wanted the Lovely Lipstick colour to be a bit more dominant on the card but did not want to use it for the base card. Instead, I used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits to create the frames and placed them under the central image. That way you still see lots of the Whisper White underneath.

I love the sentiment on this card and had the song ” I am what I am” running though my head while I made it. I’ve known the song for ages but had to look up where it originally came from. The answer surprised me because it came from a musical called La Cage aux Folles back in 1985 (showing my age now).

The inside of the card was decorated too with a stamped strip of Gray Granite card stock.

Just Because for CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #307

I hope that my Just Because card inspires you to give the challenge a go. You will find the link to add your card over on the   CC&S blog and you have until 11.00 pm (UK time) on 11 Feb to add your card.

In the meantime don’t forget to pop over to the challenge blog to see what other members of the design team have to share.

Happy stamping.

Home Decor using the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack

Snow stopped play on Saturday and I had to postpone team training. It did however mean I had a few hours to craft and catch up with things. I decided to change out some home decor using the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack.

A large picture frame was brought back in my hand luggage a few years ago from the USA, and I’ve been using it and updating with the seasons with Memories & More Card Packs. Until Saturday there it was still a Christmas theme going on, so changing it out was probably a good idea.

Home Decor with the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack

The card pack contains 50 double sided cards (2 each of 25 designs) plus 6 single sided enamelled cards and 4 sticker sheets (2 each of 2 designs). Although designed to be used in scrapbooking (pocket or traditional) they are great for all sorts of other projects. In fact, there is also a pack of cards & envelopes that co-ordinate (20 cards of 2 different sizes and 20 matching envelopes).

The card pack together with the cards & envelopes are a great project suitable for a new (or seasoned crafter with not a lot of time), to take on holiday, or give as a gift.

Here’s a picture of the newly completed frame hanging in my craft room.

I did use some card stock to fill out and also embellish some of the cards.

  • Night of Navy and Pineapple Punch scraps to ensure that the small cards fit into the square frames.
  • Calypso Coral, Night of Navy and Pineapple Punch scraps to create the strips across the cards in the four corners
  • Under the two centre frames (top and bottom) some Night of Navy card stock and also one of specialty cards cut in half length ways.
  • Pineapple Punch and Calypso Coral card stock to create the (pegged) centre piece.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing my new home decor. Shop now for the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack along with the Cards & Envelopes and other supplies by visiting my Online Store.

Happy stamping.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.5 - Florentine Filigree

Hello and welcome to Simple Stamping Saturdays No.5. This week I am featuring the Florentine Filigree stamp set.

I first saw the stamp set when attending the OnStage event last November and knew that it was one for my wish list. Those of you who know me, know that this is very much my style and therefore a must have.

Just so you know, there is a coordinating Thinlits Die that goes with the stamp set but that’s not what Simple Stamping is about. I’ll be sharing stepped up versions later in the week, and one of those cards features the die.

Simple Stamping Saturdays No.5 Florentine Filigree

I went for something a little different for this card and stamped across the corner.

To make this Simple Stamping Saturdays No.5 card

  • Place the card (a piece of Thick Whisper White measuring 14.9 x 21.0 cm scored and folded in half at 10.5 cm) so that you can stamp the first two Gray Granite images across the bottom outside corner in a straight line. The stamp has the same four images on it so there is no need to repeat the stamping. Placement is easy because the stamp is made of photopolymer.
  • Next, stamp the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick.
  • Lastly stamp the last line by stamping across the centre first, and then stamp the additional images required on each end.

For the second card (below) I used the same process but simply used the stamps in a different order. I also added an additional image. The second image nestles in the larger image and makes for a clean and simple look – very much my style.

The inside of each card was finished off with a simple row of stamped images.

Hope you like this week’s Simple Stamping Saturdays No.5 cards and don’t forget to check back later in the week for the stepped up versions. In the meantime, if you want to purchase any of the supplies I used, simply click on the appropriate image below to visit my Online Shop.

Happy Stamping

Meant To Be - CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #306

Seeing as this is the fifth Tuesday of the month it’s time for a double challenge. This means you need to combine both a colour and sketch challenge. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so I choose the Meant To Be stamp set for the challenge. But, as always in these double challenges the colours cause me an issue. I don’t tend to keep my retired Stampin’ Up! ink pads so I always have to go with what I think is the closest.

Anyway, here’s the challenge that Jeanne set for us.

And, these are the colours that I’ve opted to use because I thought they were the closest. The Elegant Eggplant really had me stumped for a moment!

This is the card that I made using the Meant To Be stamp set.

Meant to Be for CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #306

I did umm and ahh over what to use for the swirly feature under the tags. Should it be thread, dies or stamps? In the end I opted to use a stamp from the Swirly Frames stamp set. In fact, I stamped it three times onto the Whisper White front panel and didn’t re-ink the stamp in between the stamping. This meant I ended up with lighter and lighter circles.

The Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies were used to give the scallop and stitched edge at the bottom of each of the tags. Aren’t they cute?

A Blender Pen was used to pick up ink from the ink pads to colour the image at the bottom of the tag.

I hope that my Meant To Be valentines card inspires you to give the challenge a go. You will find the link to add your card over on the CC&S blog and you have until 11.00 pm (UK time) on 4 Feb to add your card.

In the meantime don’t forget to pop over to the challenge blog to see what other members of the design team have to share.

Geared Up and Stepped Up Garage

It’s time to share my Geared Up and Stepped Up Garage cards. You may recall that I shared the Geared Up Garage Simple Stamping No.4  last Saturday, so these are a little more complicated and or time consuming to make.

Geared Up Stepped Up Garage

Instructions for the Geared Up and Stepped Up Garage card above

  • Cut cardstock as follows
    • Thick Whisper White base card – 14.9 x 21.0 cm
    • Basic Black panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm
    • Real Red panel – 9.5 x 13.9 cm, and
    • Whisper White panel – 9.0 x 13.4 cm
  • Use the same Pretty Label Punch to make part of the label for the sentiment, but used a 1-1/4″ Circle Punch for the sentiment itself.
  • Added some Black/ Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon. I love this ribbon because it is masculine enough to the used on a card for men.

Instructions for the card below

  • Cut cardstock as follows
    • Real Red cardbase – 14.9 x 21.0 cm (A5)
    • Basic Black panel – 10.0 x 14.4 cm and
    • Whisper White panel – 9.5 x 13.9 cm. Stamp Real Red oil patches and Black nuts on this piece
  • Use the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies to die cut the sentiment and to make a feature of it.
  • Decorate the inside of the card using die cut Real Red and Basic Black. I’ll let you into a secret, the Real Red piece was the piece that fell out of the middle of the Real Red winged piece on the front of the card.

The Real Red piece inside the card was stamped using a greeting made up of two stamps. They came from the Thoughtful Banner stamp set.

Those of you who came to Saturday’s Classic Garage Retreat will recognise the second card. If you didn’t make it,  you can purchase the instructions for this card and the five other projects as part of the Classic Garage Collection.
